Jeremy Pang shares his passion for cooking C

elebrity chef Jeremy Pang cooked a series of dishes on the Housewares LIVE stand on Monday February 5,

using products from his award-winning School of Wok collection. The founder of School of Wok in London,

which is Europe’s only award-winning Asian and Oriental cookery school, has collaborated

with housewares distributor Dexam to create a range of woks, accessories and kitchen textiles. Dexam managing director Bryony Dyer

comments: “Jeremy thoroughly enjoyed the experience on the Housewares LIVE stand. He is a great presenter and demonstrator, who always engages well with his audience and manages to enthuse all those around him. His

passion is to educate and explain how - with the right School of Wok equipment - we can all make a great Asian meal.” Now in its third year,

the award-winning School of Wok collection “goes from strength to strength,” according to Bryony. “It’s equally at home in independent cookshops, department stores and other multiples. The continual flow of new products helps keep it fresh and interesting for everyone.” Dexam regularly adds items to the range.

Bryony says: “In the last year we’ve already seen chopsticks, a cleaver (essential for authentic Chinese chopping and slicing), beautiful bamboo and silicone chopping boards in two sizes, and a silicone strainer - not forgetting the second of Jeremy’s cookbooks – ‘Hong Kong Diner: Recipes for Baos, Hotpots, Street Snacks and More…’ And we have more up our sleeve, including a ‘Bao blanket’, along with other great products in development.”

Ken Hom OBE pays a special visit G

lobally-acclaimed celebrity chef Ken Hom OBE visited the Spring Fair on Tuesday February 6 and

took part in two demonstrations on the Housewares LIVE stand, followed by Q&A sessions with the audience. Ken cooked using a 2-piece stainless steel

wok with glass lid from his Performance Range from DKB Household UK. This wok features an encapsulated base which improves heat transfer for improved cooking performance. It also has a non-stick PFOA and HALO coating, designed to distribute the heat more evenly and quickly (62% faster than standard non-stick coatings, DKB Household UK claims), resulting in food cooking faster and more evenly, eliminating hot spots. He also

popped by the DKB Household UK stand to meet

fans, pose for photographs and sign copies of his latest recipe book. DKB Household UK brand manager Kristie

Blackford-Mills recalls: “Spring Fair was an exciting show for us to bring Ken to. Everyone who came to see him on the Housewares LIVE stand enjoyed watching the master at work, demonstrating the best

in Chinese cooking with his wok.” She added: “He always enjoys cooking for

people and sharing his skills. And in the Q&A sessions, he talked about woks and what makes a good one to use in the kitchen.” Kristie then revealed: “We are working on

some very exciting new projects with Ken at the moment. So watch this space…”
