Peter Battersby joins PHA
Housewares distributor PHA KitchEssentials (PHA) has announced that Peter Battersby has joined its team in a consultancy and sales capacity. PHA, headed by Paul Hargreaves,
distributes a range of predominantly North American brands including Stasher, Packit, Cuisipro, Architec and Prepara. Peter will be focusing initially on the
Packit and Stasher brands but will work across the complete PHA portfolio. Paul said: “We’re delighted to be working
with Peter. He is so well-known among retailers, not to mention his wealth of experience in the market, so it’s the perfect fit with us as we continue to expand the business.” Peter can be contacted on 07920 095141
or
peterb@phassocs.co.uk and on February 10 he will be joining Paul at German trade show Ambiente, where the following PHA brands are exhibiting: Pebbly, Stasher, CellarDine, Cuisipro/Kitchen Grips, Uutensil, Graupera and Vaello Campos.
He will also attend the International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago for the duration of the event, which runs from March 2 to March 5.
Housewares supplier The DRH Collection has made a generous donation to the Rainy Day Trust (RDT), delivering four pallets
of ceramics and glassware to the industry charity earlier this month. David Holmes, managing
director of The DRH Collection, said: [RDT ceo] Bryan [Clover] had

mentioned to us at one of the trade shows how he could always put product to good use, through raffles, auctions and also competitions, especially on social media. So we thought we would try that route this year. We’ve always been strong supporters of the Rainy Day Trust as it’s such a worthwhile cause.” Bryan said RDT was “absolutely
delighted” that The DRH Collection had been able to support the charity with such a substantial donation. “As the only
charity that is here to support people working in the housewares sector, it is so important that we can work alongside suppliers as well as wholesalers and retailers,” he said. “We were staggered to receive such an enormous amount of stock and are grateful to The DRH Collection for their belief and generosity. We will be able to use this to raise the funds we need to continue our work. This will go a long way to improving the lives of some seriously vulnerable people.”
… and appoints fundraising manager
The Rainy Day Trust (RDT) has appointed Sarah Ravenscroft as the industry charity’s first ever fundraising manager. Sarah joins with a background in the charity sector, having worked for a regional building preservation trust and cancer charity before leaving to work freelance as a fundraiser, project manager and event organiser. She started her
career working on community and economic development projects in the north-west. Commenting on her appointment, RDT ceo Bryan Clover said: “We’re delighted that Sarah is joining our small team. She brings a wealth of experience from a community fundraising perspective, and will be central to our efforts to grow the charity and deliver the help that people from the home improvement world so desperately need. The RDT is now
set for a period of sustained growth and development, about which we are all extremely excited.” Sarah took up her appointment in January and will be at the Spring Fair on RDT’s stand in Hall 9. She said: “The Spring Fair is perfect timing for me, as it means I can hit the ground running, meeting people in housewares and DIY.” Sarah can be contacted via the main RDT number on 0121 237 1132 or at
sarah@rainydaytrust.org.uk.
