Honeywell

Honeywell has introduced Solstice L41y (R452B), a reduced global warming-potential (GWP) refrigerant designed to replace R410A for reversible heating and cooling applications. The solution off ers 67% lower GWP than R410A, 5% higher energy effi ciency and lower discharge temperature/pressure in comparison to R32, that helps reduce capital costs for safety mitigation. Featuring effi ciency and capacity to match R410A, Solstice L41y is now commercially available including approved compressors for both chillers and heat pumps. This will allow equipment manufacturers to quickly transition R410A equipment to a lower GWP product, while minimising redesign costs and capital expenditure. Solstice L41y features a discharge temperature lower than R32 and similar to R410A, so discharge temperature mitigation is not required. It has the same service pressure as R410A, negating system design changes in piping, brazing and vessels. Solstice L41y enables up to 10% lower charge size compared to existing equipment using R410A, and has a broader operation envelope.

Panasonic

Panasonic has launched its new 3-pipe ECOi-EX MF3 series. With outstanding effi ciency even in extreme ambient temperatures, a high SEER/SCOP at full load capacity plus an increase in piping length and the number of connectable

Regal Beloit

Regal Beloit Corporation has integrated its Genteq electronically commutated motor products for the refrigeration industry to consolidate product off erings for its customers.

Regal’s commercial refrigeration motors include the recently launched GlacAir air-fl ow solution, which utilises an axial fl ux ECM design for higher effi ciency commercial refrigeration applications such as display cases and reach-in coolers. The GlacAir motor and fan off er customers a more compact, versatile design through an approximately one-inch reduction in the motor profi le, allowing for fl exibility with motor placement. The motor also provides a quieter airfl ow solution to complement smaller systems with a lower ambient noise, while off ering compatibility with the natural refrigerant R290 (propane) through the motor’s ATEX certifi cation. Additional product off erings include the Arktic 59 and Ice 59 ECMs designed for use in the evaporator of large commercial refrigeration walk-in coolers and freezers. The Arktic 59 motor off ers high effi ciency and dependability with output ratings up to 50 watts, while the Ice 59 motor off ers output ratings up to 74.6 watts. Regal also off ers Morrill Motors and Elco basic shaded pole motors for low-cost, effi cient solutions.

indoor units, the ECOi-EX MF3 sets a powerful new standard in VRF system performance and project design fl exibility. Compared to the MF2 series, the MF3 steps up effi ciency with an SEER rating of 7.05 (28kW model) and SCOP rating of 4.85 (22.4kW model, following EU Commission Regulation 2016/2281 (LOT21). Panasonic has redesigned the heat exchanger, with a more effi cient triple-surface construction to optimise and improve thermal transfer. Combined with an eff ective piping pattern, its energy performance has increased by 5% for a more cost-eff ective solution for commercial buildings. The ECOi-EX MF3 system can provide hot water at temperatures up to 65°C. The system works by recovering waste heat from indoor units in cooling operation, and connecting to a purpose-built hot water cylinder, making it an ideal energy-saving solution for hotels and apartment blocks where hot water is in high demand. www.aircon.panasonic.eu

Trane

Ingersoll Rand brand, Trane, has introduced RTHF G, the newest addition in the XStream range of water-cooled screw chillers.

The new design, now available in

countries across Europe, Middle East and Africa, is part of the Ingersoll Rand EcoWise portfolio, designed to lower environmental impact with next-generation, low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants and high effi ciency operation. The new design off ers customers an alternative, cost-eff ective option for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, because the units operate with near-zero GWP refrigerant R1234ze. This makes Trane RTHF G units unique as the only chillers in this capacity range to operate with a near-zero GWP refrigerant and deliver high seasonal effi ciency, low installation footprint and stable part load control at all conditions. The new units feature the largest screw compressors available, which when used in a double circuit deliver capacity of up to 2700kW and benefi t most commercial and industrial cooling applications that require maximum performance and sustainability in a limited installation space. www.trane.com
