ON THE ROAD S ections three, four, five and six of the

course covered electromagnetism, transformers, capacitors and relays, with all theory linked closely to real-life tasks that engineers face when working on commercial catering equipment - from testing solenoids and coils, to applying solid state relays.

H elpful visual aids were included throughout the accompanying presentation, as well as in the corresponding course manual.

T he learning from day one is followed by both a m ultiple choice and practical assessment on day t wo, ensuring attendees have grasped the theory and are able to safely apply this knowledge in their working lives.

Mr Groucutt said: “On day two, the practical element focuses on ‘dead testing’ and also emphasises the need to acquire permission t o carry out any work on equipment, and the importance of taking responsibility and control. It is all about limiting the potential for anything to go wrong.”

The Commercial Catering Equipment Electrical Competence Course is just one of a host of certified programmes delivered by Combico UK at
