IER Awards: 2025 Winners

Editor Recognitions at the 2025 IER Awards

Well-Deserved Accolades Presented to Many at the 33rd IER Awards A

very big THANK YOU to the Retailers and experienced staff, along with

the professional personnel of all the manufacturers, distributors and service companies who, have overwhelmingly supported this years’ 33rd IER Awards. Along with the IER Team, we would also like to thank our sponsors as without their amazing support, this important annual event of industry recognition would not be possible.

This leads me to also responding to the many

prompts I receive from many, in fact, the majority of our industry, in acknowledging Linda Dorling, who has been instrumental in organising the IER Awards from the beginning, yes, 33 years ago. Linda will always be humble and simply state, “It’s Teamwork”, but her lead and overwhelming contribution still deserves a big ‘THANK YOU’. With another record attendance, and a fabulous vibe, the IER Awards is deemed as the highest acclaimed celebration of excellence in the electrical retailing industry, recognising the ‘people who make a difference’, along with the products and services they are involved with. A celebration of the many successes, endless hours of hard work and incredible displays of innovation seen across the independent electrical retailing sector over the preceding 12 months.

Having a wide variety of professional skills vast experiences, the carefully selected panel of judges were again presented with many excellent entries and had to make several, really tough decisions. We sincerely thank them for their valuable time, tenacity, and utter scrutiny for making their final line-up. All of this year’s finalists performed to an award- winning standard and are congratulated for making it to this stage and for their contributions to the trade. With amazing energy and enthusiasm, this

year, we experienced our host and compere, Mike Bushell, enjoying the buzz as he mingled amongst the crowd of guests in the Products & Services demonstration area, where manufacturers and service providers had the amazing opportunity to informally meet and chat to one and all. Settled in readiness for lunch at 1.30pm, Special Projects and Events Manager at Datateam, Linda Dorling, greeted the large audience and thanked them for supporting the IER Awards, of which rewards the excellence which exists in our industry. During Linda’s Welcome speech, she typically

recognised several attributes of the necessity of teamwork. Closing her introduction by sincerely stating, “On behalf of the IER team, I would now

PEOPLE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

like to take this opportunity to thank ALL of our amazing sponsors, exhibitors and retailers, as without whom this event would not be possible.” With a fabulous lunch completed, it was fun time with our guest host rallying the crowd to take part in a slightly different ‘Head & Tails’ game where he asked questions whether unusual global sports were true or false, i.e. Worm Charming? After many hilarious questions and answers,

the eventual winner of the game, Martin Jukes of Avensys, won Mike’s latest book “Everything You Needed To Know About The World’s Craziest Sports”. Oh, the answer about ‘Worm Charming’, yes, it’s ‘True’.

Then it was time for the Awards as the infamous TV voice over artist, Roger Tilling, who also met Mike Bushell during the BBC ‘Strictly’ series, bantered then commenced with the introduction of the first award finalists. Continuing, with each Award, Mike introduced

the category followed by Roger calling out the finalists and the relevant sponsors called on stage to present the winners with their deserving accolades. The following pages are devoted to the 2025
