Bioeco was launched in the UK for SS23 and the first stockist of the brand was A G Meeks in Cardiff. The retailer had seen the Bioeco range at the Expo Riva exhibition and then also at Micam in Milan.

The brand followed this up by taking a stand at the Footwear Today Live show in Birmingham in September last year, headed up by Mr Cassidy; here he acquired some new customers and then built on that success at the following show in February earlier this year. “Those customers who bought at our first show have come back and bought again, and

more importantly they have repeated in season which proves good fitting and comfortable footwear is timeless and sells 12 months of the year!

Bioeco was also launched in Charles Clinkard for SS24 and also in other independent footwear retailers across the UK market – and the response has been very positive from all new stockists, reports Mr Cassidy.

“I think this shows that fitting, comfort and style all leads to a good long-term relationship

with our customers, and more importantly their customers. Bioeco strongly believes you don’t need to compromise between beauty, comfort and sustainability; our brand combines everything you love in good footwear!”

Footwear Today chats to Iris McLaughlin from McElhinneys Department Store in County Donegal, Ireland, who has been a stockist of Bioeco shoes since 2019…

Q: What ranges do you buy and stock from Bioeco? A: We buy across the range but we concentrate on the occasion dresswear shoes mainly. The biggest advantage to this is that each shoe has a matching bag, which not only looks great displayed in our store, but this helps complete each look and increases UPT.

Q: What’s it like working with the Bioeco team? A: The team are great to work with! They are always at the end of the phone or contactable on email whenever we need them. The service is fantastic on the reorders. When doing our forward order they are flexible on changing leathers and colours and they are always taking on board any suggestions we may have to improve the collection.

Q: What do your customers say about the Bioeco ranges in your store? A: Our customers love the ranges, purely for the comfort, fit and quality. We have repeat customers for the brand as they will buy the

same shoe in two or three different colours, and some customers come in especially and only ask for Bioeco.

When this happens you know you have something special!

Q: What makes Bioeco different from the other brands you have in your store? A: As it is mainly the dresswear collection that we sell it’s definitely the comfort, the type of heel and the heel heights that really make the difference for our customers. Not only this but having G and H fitting means we can cater for a wider customer base and gain customer loyalty, and we’re known in the area for offering this which is certainly a draw for people.

Q: Do you have any suggestions on how the Bioeco brand can keep improving?
