“You need to be someone who embraces an ever-changing environment – fundamentally a people person”
why McDonald’s is the global success that it is. Every procedure is stress-tested and worked-through thoroughly before being brought to market – and importantly, the brand wants to hear from those on the ground. It was an incredible experience to be part of and one I will always remember.
What or who would you attribute your phenomenal success to so far? In terms of who’s been instrumental in my success, I’d say firstly it’s my team! Ultimately, they’re my business! They’re an amazing group of people who share my values and ambitions and ensure we employ a fantastic engaged motivated team who provide an exceptional customer experience every day. Secondly, it’s my husband and my
family. Hard work is such a huge part of your life, so it’s important to have that family support, people who ‘get it’ and understand why you do what you do.
How would you describe the ideal McDonald’s franchisee? To be a successful McDonald’s franchisee, you don’t have to come from a business background. Having some business acumen, of course, is a strength but most importantly, it’s essential to be someone who embraces an ever-changing environment, who fundamentally is a people person, who understands the value that their team adds to their business. McDonald’s promotes an inclusive
environment, supporting women in business; the Women’s Network provides an avenue whereby like-minded individuals can share experiences, get together and provide advice and support. But regardless, if you have the ambition and drive, you could be the right fit for McDonald’s.
What does the future hold? Just to further grow my business and offer more opportunities to my team!
