FCSI ASIA PACIFIC EVENT REVIEW
“This was about building a stronger, more connected community within the foodservice industry. By hosting gatherings like this we aim to increase awareness of FCSI and attract new members”
including professional consultants, manufacturers, contractors, and dealers from countries such as the Philippines, Vietnam, Tailand, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Dubai, and Italy. Te event format was free and easy, encouraging attendees to reconnect after more than two years without such gatherings. Te highlight of the evening was a sumptuous buffet dinner featuring Malaysian specialties, including a roast lamb and various regional dishes. Notably, the event was held without sponsorship in the spirit of the Food Service Professional Society (FSP). Ben Gregoire welcomed the guests and
underscored the purpose of the event: to foster networking and fellowship among industry professionals. He introduced FCSI to the non-members present, elaborating on the society's mission and upcoming events. A poignant tribute was paid to Miss Imelda Silayan, the first Chair of FCSI Asia Pacific,
who passed away earlier this year. Mr. Ahmed Subactogin FCSI delivered a heartfelt celebration of life speech in her honor.
AN APPROACH BASED ON SINCERITY
Te evening was filled with laughter, conversations, and a genuine sense of camaraderie. Attendees expressed great enthusiasm for the event, with many showing interest in joining FCSI and participating in upcoming webinars and the Asia Pacific Conference scheduled for July 2025 in Vietnam. Gregoire says the event goes beyond
networking. “It was about building a stronger, more connected community within the foodservice industry. By hosting gatherings like this, we aim to increase awareness of FCSI and attract new members who are passionate about elevating industry standards,” he concludes, “Our goal is to expand FCSI's presence throughout Asia and events like tonight's dinner are crucial in laying the groundwork for our future initiatives, including our upcoming webinars and the 2025 Asia Pacific Conference in Vietnam. Tese activities will help us grow our membership base and reinforce our position as leaders in the foodservice industry."
Colleagues from across the region joined the day, which included a tribute to Imelda Silayan, the inaugural chair of FCSI Asia Pacific
