Booking & Logistics, b4bookings What does Blackworks mean to you, both professionally and personally?
ANDREA MACÍAS
Blackworks means family. It’s more than just a project, it’s a space where music is lived with no filters. Professionally, it’s a constant challenge, because just when you think you know the rules of the game, they change, and that’s pushed me to grow in so many ways. On a personal level, it’s given me a community of people to share stress, madness, and unforgettable nights with.
How was your first contact with the project?
I had already been following Blackworks on social media for a while, but it was when I started moving into the agency world that the chance came to really meet them and start working together. Everything was new for all of us, and that’s exactly why there was such a special connection, we grew and pro- fessionalized side by side, step by step. If I remember correctly, it was at the Halloween edition when I met them in person for the first time, after countless emails and calls.
What do you think makes Blackworks different within the scene?
Authenticity. Blackworks isn’t trying to be like anyone else; they carve their own path, take risks, and connect with a crowd that knows what it wants, and for those who don’t, they guide them.
They take care of every last detail, both for the audience and for the people involved behind the scenes. They don’t cut corners on production or expenses because for the team, quality and the experience they want you to live always come first. But above all, it’s the team behind it all.
Is there a show, moment, or anecdote you remember with special affection or intensity?
There are countless ones, but most of them stay backstage! But if I had to choose one, it would definitely be the Halloween edition: the visuals and the sound were simply brutal, one of those nights that stays with you forever. And here’s to all the shows still to come…
