BLACKWORKS
RECORDS: The sound identity of a generation
MATIAS / SKRYPTION
Blackworks Records wasn’t born as a side project of the festival, but as a cultural necessity. In 2020, while the world was at a global standstill, the label broke through with a first compilation that already sketched out a sound and an identity. What seemed like a one-off gesture ended up becoming one of the most influential platforms in global hard techno, capable of building bridges between the emerging and the established.
The label was conceived to fill an obvious gap: in a country with a strong clubbing tradition but without a platform that represented the rawness and intensity of hard techno, Blackworks positioned itself as a catalyst. The goal wasn’t just to release music, but to craft a cultural narrative of its own, one aligned with the dancefloor experience and with the community that already saw itself reflected in the brand.
Five years later, Blackworks Records has become a space where rising artists coexist with international heavyweights but, above all, a label that operates with a clear editorial line: authenticity, risk, and a global vision. This article dives into its history and its present, showing how a project born from local urgency transformed into a label with worldwide reach.
