HÉCTOR OAKS What is Blackworks for you?

For me, what started out as a techno party has grown into a pretty powerful cultural movement. People who go to Blackworks identify with an aesthetic, a set of values, a way of dancing, and a very particular hard sound that drives the whole thing forward.

How was your first contact with the project?

I think it was one of the most special ones: right in the middle of the pandemic, when they dared to organize one of the first parties in such a difficult moment, finding a way to make it legal. Since then, I’ve been so close with Dani’s brand and the whole team.

What do you think makes Blackworks different from the rest?

The professional team, the affection, the passion, and the attention they put into everything they do. Their aesthetic vision is on a really high level for such a young brand. And beyond that, they have their own cultural impact and identity that make them unique.

Any show, moment, or heavy anecdote you remember?

Without a doubt, that night at La Riviera in the middle of the pandemic. Blackworks was one of the first to dare to throw a party in such a complicated moment. The energy we experienced that night was indescribable: feeling that we were once again playing music for people after so long was truly a historic moment for all of us. That moment marked a before and after, because we all understood that what was coming with Blackworks was going to be much bigger than anything we had lived until then.
