EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
Amidst the electrifying beats of techno and the refined notes of classical music, emerges an artist with a remarkable journey that bridges the seemingly disparate worlds of piano sonatas and pulsating electronic tracks. From an early age with classical piano to commanding the decks at global techno stages, this artist’s journey is a testament to passion, evolution, and the power of music. Dive in as we navigate through the harmonious blend of past and present, classical and techno, and discover the inspirations that fuel the fire of creativity.
Musical Evolution: “Given your background in classical piano since the age of four, how do you think this early exposure has influenced your evolution as an electronic music artist?”
As I got into music theory quite early it definitely hel- ped me a lot on how I approached and learned things when I started Djing and producing, finding and writing melo- dies, crossing boundaries and playing with different keys.
Artistic Journey: “Moving from classical music to global techno stages is quite a journey. Can you share how this transition occurred and how your musical taste evolved over time?”
They are still two different pair of shoes for me, when I was younger, I always wanted to become a pianist and not a DJ but when I got into electronic music in my early teena- ge years and after my first gigs, I enjoyed playing DJ sets in front of a crowd way more than playing piano in front of an audience. I am still super into classical music, especially piano and when I am at home the first thing, I do every morning together with my morning coffee is playing the piano, which gives me a lot of peace and the best start possible into the day. But at night I need some heavy kick drums.
Creative Process: “Can you give us a glimpse into your creative process when producing new tracks? How do you integrate the haunting voices and mesmerizing synth lines found in tracks like ‘Control’?”
When I sit down to produce music I always have tons of ideas in my phone already. Especially while traveling I lis- ten to a lot of different styles of music, old and new stuff, and everything I find inspiring, it can be arrangementwise or keywise or maybe a special sound design of some vocals I write down as a note and afterwards in the studio I make my own idea out of it and that’s where I find most of my inspiration, actually mostly from hip hop music. Also, my inspiration when I produce a track is never coming from the same genre.
Berlin’s Influence: “Berlin is renowned for its vibrant music scene. How has being a resident artist in Berlin shaped your sound and approach to music?”
The Berlin club and music scene inspired me a lot. Even more on the producing side then on the DJing side. I remember many times where I felt so inspired and overwhelmed on the Berghain floor, I immediately had to leave because I felt
like going to the studio.
Performance Energy: “Your sets are known for their pace and energy. How do you maintain this energy, and how do you decide on the dynamics and grooves for each set?”
I feel when I am 100% feeling what I play and I am giving this energy to the crowd the crowd is feeling it the same way and is also giving this energy back to me, which is the most amazing feeling ever. And as I get bored quite easi- ly, I always play different sets to also keep the energy and

the excitement to play for myself. That’s also why I am always looking for new bumping tracks, which is hard sometimes to find a lot of new stuff when you have so many gigs.
Record Collection: “Having accumulated a record collection over the years, are there any specific records that hold sentimental value to you or that have been particularly influential in your career?”
My first record, which is Die Mensch-Maschine from Kraftwerk which I bought when I was 13 Years old at a flea market in Munich, where they actually only sold indie records. I didn’t even know who Kraftwerk was back then I just liked the cover and wanted to own a vinyl. But then listening to it I got really into it. It was shortly before I got into electronic music.
Global Performances: “Having performed at global clubs and festivals like Awakenings and Melt!, do you adapt your
different audiences, or do you prefer to introduce them to your unique sound?”
It depends, I think it’s important to stick to your style, because people come and buy tickets to see you doing what you do. But I think you can also present your style in different ways. But I definitely adapt my set to different playtimes and audiences which also means I am then able to play tracks I normally can’t play during prime time sets which I really enjoy.
Future Releases: “Can fans expect any new releases or collaborations in the near future? Is there a particular direction or sound you are exploring in your upcoming work?”
I know I it took me some time, but I needed the time to define my own unique style so that I could really stand behind it a 100%. You can definitely expect a lot of upcoming music next year and also a lot of probably unexpected stuff.
Advice for Aspiring DJs: “For aspiring DJs looking to make their mark in the electronic music scene, what advice can you offer about developing a unique sound and building a career in music?”
