anticipated is his upcoming project with Oscar L for Alan Fitzpatrick’s label, We Are The Brave. This colla- boration has been a dream come true for the DJ, who has long seen Oscar L as a constant source of inspira- tion. The creative process between the two has been extensive, and according to GONÇALO, this project brings something special that hasn’t been explored in his previous productions.

“Oscar is a great friend and one of my favorite produ- cers—I love his music. We had been wanting to work together for a while, and we started collaborating on projects two years ago. It took a long time—over two years—for this release to finally see the light of day. Oscar and I have a very similar approach to techno, and I think that’s clearly reflected in this track. I’m beyond happy because We Are The Brave is one of my favori- te labels, and now, being part of this family is truly an honor.”

YELLOWHEADS AND LOWLITA: TWO UNIVERSES, ONE ESSENCE

GONÇALO’s collaborations with Yellowheads have also been significant in his career. His remix of one of their tracks became a true milestone when it was played by John Summit and Nicole Moudaber in a back-to-back set at Factory Town in Miami. These moments of vali- dation are crucial for the DJ, who not only seeks indus- try recognition but also aims to emotionally connect with his audience through his productions.

“The Yellowheads are some of the producers I admire the most; their music truly amazes me. They sent me a track for Lowlita, and I liked it so much that I told them I wanted to do a remix. It was interesting because when the EP was released, it went somewhat unnoticed on the charts, but then John Summit posted a video pla- ying that track in a B2B with Nicole Moudaber at Fac- tory Town Miami, and without a doubt, that changed everything. I still play it in almost all my sets.”

LOWLITA RECORDS: THE CHALLENGE OF BEING A BEACON FOR SPANISH TECHNO

GONÇALO’s work with Lowlita Records has also been a key part of his career. Alongside Anna Tur and Hosse, he has solidified the label as one of the most influen- tial in the Spanish techno scene. For him, the most im- portant thing about Lowlita is the passion for quality music and the constant search for new talents who can grow within the family.

“Hosse has been my friend for almost 20 years; we’ve grown and evolved together, both as artists and as people. Anna, besides being one of the most wonderful human beings I know, is a role model for any artist. Her hard work, dedication, and love for music make her uni- que and special. When we started this project, we were clear that Lowlita would be a platform to release the music we loved. There was never a strict DNA—what mattered was releasing quality music that we liked while also helping new talents grow.”

MIAMI: THE DUALITY OF TRIP AND 1800 LUCKY IN THE CAPITAL OF THE SOUTH

During his time in Miami, GONÇALO felt at home, adapting to an electronic scene that is still in transi- tion. While techno in Miami remains a subculture com- pared to other styles like tech house, GONÇALO ma- naged to adapt without losing his essence. He enjoyed the fusion of genres and styles that characterize the city, and the transition between techno and more hou- se-oriented sounds allowed him to explore new sonic possibilities.

“Miami is Miami—one of the most incredible cities in the world. It’s true that pure techno still doesn’t have a strong presence, and the audience prefers tech house and groove sounds. Even so, I felt very comfortable at both The Trip and 1800 Lucky, and I enjoyed it a lot.”

THE ART OF TRANSITION: FROM TOU- RING TO THE STUDIO, KEEPING THE CREATIVE SPARK ALIVE

The transition between the adrenaline of touring and the introspection of studio work is a constant challen- ge for any artist, but GONÇALO has found his personal and professional balance. Despite the demands of his career, the DJ maintains a strict and balanced routine to preserve his energy and creativity.

“My life is very busy, between my DJ performances, studio time, the artistic direction of Dreambeach, and of course, my family, which is the foundation of everything. I have very few free hours in the day. When I’m home in Ibiza, I try to have a very methodical life with a strict routine. I wake up at 6 AM, work out every day, eat ultra-healthy meals at the same times. Main- taining this balance is essential so that your body and mind are prepared for weekend performances, time zone changes, long flights, and airport meals.”

MY THOUGHTS

GONÇALO is, without a doubt, a prime example of the passion and dedication required to be a complete ar- tist in the global electronic music scene. His ability to emotionally connect with his audience, adapt to di- verse cultures and musical styles, and maintain strict discipline between his personal and professional life is admirable. Moreover, his approach to creating and evolving electronic music positions him as a referen- ce in modern techno—not only for his technical ability but also for his deep understanding of the human con- nection that transcends music. GONÇALO doesn’t just make music; he creates moments that will remain in the collective memory of those who listen to and follow
