EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
Dhuna is the embodiment of versatility behind the decks. At 36 years old, the Spanish DJ masterfu- lly navigates both the freshest textures of house and the most powerful punches of techno. But her true talent goes beyond selection—she reads the crowd with surgical instinct, turning every set into an immersive experience, no matter the musical background of the audience.
Shaped by the vibrant scenes of Barcelona, Auc- kland, Ibiza, and New York, her journey through some of the world’s most iconic clubs and parties has refined her sensitivity as an architect of the dancefloor. Her deep connection with bass and her ability to shape the energy of a crowd have gi- ven her a unique sonic psychology, crafting a mu- sical taste that is both expansive and exquisite.
Currently, Dhuna holds residencies at Rebels Fest and Pandora Sevilla, but her reach extends far be- yond. She has conquered festival stages such as Aquasella, Dreambeach, and Elrow, sharing lineups with heavyweights like Charlotte de Witte, Armin van Buuren, Paco Osuna, and Richie Hawtin.
And this is just the beginning. With performan- ces at international events like Miami Music Week and Amsterdam Dance Event, Dhuna continues to expand her global impact, proving that her sound knows no borders.
In this new section, Dhuna shares her essentials behind the decks—the tracks, tools, and rituals that accompany her in every session, ensuring the dancefloor stays on fire until the last beat.
Miami Music Week is always a key event for DJs and producers worldwide. What are your favorite tracks for this special week, and what draws you to the energy of this event when selecting your music?
I consider myself quite timeless when it comes to preparing my music bag. I enjoy playing older tracks in my sets and alternating them with new releases.

Based on your experience in places like New York, Barcelona, and Ibiza, how do you see the evolu- tion of the electronic music scene in 2025? What changes or trends do you think will dominate this year, how does your international journey influen- ce your current musical approach?
It’s clear that hard techno has taken over house music in recent years, but I see that classic tech- no is making a strong comeback. Personally, this benefits me because, although I play everything from house to techno, I’ve been feeling a special attraction lately to darker, more serious sounds.
Your ability to connect with the crowd, regardless of genre, is one of your defining traits. When pre- paring a DJ set, what elements do you consider “essential” to ensure a unique experience on the dancefloor?
First, I analyze the lineup—who the headliner is and what kind of audience might attend the event. I also consider the time of my set, who plays be- fore or after me, so I can craft a session that fits the flow. Finally, I take into account whether it’s an open-air venue or a more club-focused setting.
I like to have a couple of backup plans, even if I don’t end up using them.
Another key factor in delivering a great set is knowing exactly how my folders are organized and what’s inside each one, so I have plenty of options in case things don’t go as planned.
Dhuna is clear about one thing: every set is a game of tension and release, a dialogue between the booth and the dancefloor that follows no for- mulas—only instinct. In a time when hard techno has reclaimed its throne and classic techno is re- surging, she moves with chameleon-like elegance, blending the timeless with the unexpected.
Her journey through New York, Barcelona, and Ibi- za has given her a panoramic view of the global scene, but what truly defines her is her ability to adapt without losing her identity. Her record bag is more than just a collection of tracks—it’s an arsenal of emotions designed to ignite any dan- cefloor, no matter the context. The future of electronic music is uncertain, but one thing remains the same: wherever Dhuna is, dancing is guaranteed.
