La nueva insurrección raver de KI/KI continua más fuerte que nunca haciéndolo ahora con su primer lanzamiento en ‘SLASH’ su nuevo sello. Mientras se dedica a presentar sus propias producciones y las de algunos talentos emergen- tes, ella continua su interés por rastrear a productores que todos hemos conocido y amado en las últimas décadas y que el tiempo parece haber olvidado con el fin de acom- pañar a cada lanzamiento con su propia versión de los tracks originales. Marcando su primer release encontramos a ‘Alpha Tracks’ y a un EP de dos tracks que incluyen remix- es de ‘Format’ (Aka Orlando Voorn) y KI/KI.


El artista austriaco, Felix Benedikt, rompió en la escena en 2016 habiendo pasado varios años antes trabajando en tiendas de discos y endulzando sus habilidades musicales, su moniker ‘Alpha Tracks’ ha sido el resultado creativo de- sprovisto de género, tiempo o estilo. ‘Alpha Tracks’ ha lan- zado su música en sellos como BPitch, Blue Hour y Morbid y ahora lo hace en SLASH.


Combinando su encanto vienés con el amor por lo analógi- co, el sonido de Felix podría ser categorizado en el género techno, pero con la fortaleza necesaria para encajar en el hardcore y en imaginación en lo trancy. ‘No More’ se abré a un ritmo febril, sus sintetizadores pelean por captar la atención total, y sus melódicas capas se derriten en sus drums que van ascendiendo orgánicamente. El principal break es una relación corta que agrega energía a la segun- da mitad del track. ‘Format’ es el alías de Orlando Voorn, el cual mantiene una energía alta que a su vez suaviza el viaje del track haciendo de esta remezcla una pieza con burbujeantes sonidos.


‘To Night’ es un poderoso monstruo ácido, up-tempo y sombrío. Sus cortes vocales son siniestros y sus líneas son bastante ácidas e incisivas. Es un track que no esconde nada, no tiene descanso alguno. En el remix de KI/KI se puede percibir las memorias rave de la década de los no- venta, contiene un efervescente bajo fuera de ritmo con arpegios que logran destacar a este remix.


KI/KI’s new rave insurrection continues with the first release on her new label, Slash. Whilst releasing her own produc- tions and some of the newest talent around, she is keen to track down producers we all knew and loved from the last few decades that the time seems to have forgotten to accompany each release with their take on the originals. Marking the first release will be Alpha Tracks and a 2 track EP with remixes from Format (aka Orlando Voorn) and KI/ KI.


Austrian artist, Felix Benedikt, broke onto the scene in 2016. Having spent many years before honing his skills and work- ing in record stores, the Alpha Tracks moniker has become his creative outlet devoid of genre, tempo, or style. With re- leases on BPitch, Blue Hour and Morbid, and now Slash.


Blending Viennese charm and a love of analog hardware, Felix’s sound can be categorized as Techno, but with the balls to be Hardcore, and imagination to be Trancey. ‘No More’ opens at a feverish pace, synths vying for attention. Layers of melodics melt together against a sparse drum framework growing organically. The main break is a short affair, adding more energy for the big second-half payoff. Orlando Voorn’s alias Format keeps the energy high but smooths out the ride for the remix of the original, where bumpy synths bubble and echo.


‘To Night’ is a powerful acid monster. Up-tempo and dark, its vocal cuts are sinister and acidic lines spiky and sharp. Uncompromising with few breaks, there’s nowhere to hide. On the remix, is label owner KI/KI who recalls all her ‘90s rave memories to accentuate the main motifs. Bubbly off- beat bass, anthemic arps, and clever arrangement make this a standout remix.
