Los artistas destacados de este año son el fenómeno del rap puertorriqueño, PJ Sin Suela, las leyendas del funk venezolano, Los Amigos Invisibles, la cantautora mexicana, Silvana Es- trada, y la banda del pop alternativo colombia- no, Monsieur Periné.


Rompiendo barreras y reinventando la cultura musical en una isla caribeña con Buena Onda Aparte de sus eventos en Miami, Mishu Music también tiene un enfoque particular en la media isla de la República Dominicana. Este verano producen la serie Buena Onda que incluye es- trellas del movimiento Latinx en los EE.UU. como Omar Apollo y The Marías, además traen por segunda vez al dúo de synthpop Los Wálters, el rapero PJ Sin Suela y los colombianos Monsieur Periné. Todos estos conciertos se llevan a cabo en el pop-up venue llamado Summer Station, localizado en el centro de Santo Domingo.


“Al ser un país pequeño de habla hispana, los artistas independientes no aparecen con de- masiada frecuencia. Siempre pueden encon- trar los conciertos típicos del género latino y las estrellas del pop dominantes, por lo que nos hemos enfocado en traer artistas que normal- mente no llegarían aquí'', agrega Carlos Aybar, CEO de Mishu Music.


Mishu ha logrado transformar la escena musical dominicana, abriendo puertas para nuevos ar- tistas internacionales nunca presentados en el país y creando una plataforma para el apoyo a artistas locales.


Isle of Light: Un festival internacional con sa- bor local. La pieza maestra de Mishu Music se celebra cada primavera en Santo Domingo. Isle of Light es un festival de música alternativa que permite a su audiencia experimentar la riqueza de las culturas musicales, tanto como artistas domin- icanos, como internacionales.


Desde 2014, Isle of Light se ha enfocado en presentar una mezcla ecléctica de artistas lo- cales e internacionales, trayendo a Santo Do- mingo la diversidad de sonido que hace falta en la escena. Por sus escenarios han pasado C. Tangana, Tokischa, Sublime, Vicente García, Bomba Estéreo, Rita Indiana, Run the Jewels, Twin Shadow, y muchos más. Con una propues- ta única enfocada en crear un ambiente repleto de arte y música, Isle of Light resalta lo mejor de la cultura local e internacional en un espacio con fondo tropical.


This year the concert series will take place during the summer months, from June 24 to August 13. Intending to promote the diversity of emerging Latin artists. Escala Sonora fea- tures a variety of genres, including everything from funk rock, hip-hop, alternative pop, and singer-songwriters. This year's featured artists are Puerto Rican rap phenomenon PJ Sin Suela, Venezuelan funk legends Los Amigos Invisibles, Mexican singer-songwriter Silvana Estrada, and Colombian alternative pop band Monsieur Per- iné.


Breaking barriers and reinventing musical cul- ture on a Caribbean island with Buena Onda Aside from their Miami events, Mishu Music also focuses on the mid-island of the Dominican Republic. This summer, they are producing Bue- na Onda's series that includes US stars of the Latinx movement, such as Omar Apollo and The Marías. As well as bringing for the second time the synthpop duo Los Wálters, the rapper PJ Sin Suela and the Colombians Monsieur Periné. All these concerts occur at a venue called Summer Station, located in the centre of Santo Domingo.


Being a small Spanish-speaking country, inde- pendent artists do not appear too often. You can always find the typical Latin genre con- certs and mainstream pop stars, so we focus on bringing artists that generally would not make it here, adds Carlos Aybar, CEO of Mishu.


Mishu has managed to transform the Domini- can music scene, opening doors for new inter- national artists never before presented in the country and creating a platform for the support of local artists.


Isle of Light: An international festival with a local hint Mishu Music's masterpiece is held every spring in Santo Domingo. The Isle of Light is an alter- native music festival that allows its audience to experience the richness of musical cultures, both Dominican and international artists.


Since 2014, Isle of Light has focused on pre- senting an eclectic mix of local and internation- al artists, bringing Santo Domingo the diversity of sound that the scene lacks. C. Tangana, Tok- ischa, Sublime, Vicente García, Bomba Estéreo, Rita Indiana, Run the Jewels, Twin Shadow, and many more have performed on its stages. With a unique proposal focused on creating an envi- ronment full of art and music, Isle of Light high- lights the best of local and international culture in a space with a tropical background.
