El año pasado tuviste un extraordinario catalogo de lanzamientos como ‘Amor’, ‘East Row’ y ‘Momentum EP;’ Cada material posee su magia, a veces cruda, otras eclécticas o con poderosas líneas del bajo ¿Cómo in- troducirías el sonido Gawlas a los lectores? ¿Cómo fue para ti crear un EP en u periodo incierto?
Mi música es una mezcla de elementos, pero tiene mu- cha energía y poder, es a veces un poco melódica, pero impetuosa. Realmente no es una música para descan- sar, yo les recomendaría que se la llevaran al gimnasio, doy todo para que mis fans se muevan.
Los dos últimos años fueron horribles para cada músi- co, incluso más para productores. No había gigs, donde pudieras recibir retroalimentación por parte de la au- diencia y probar los tracks que produjiste, así que no sabías si le faltaba algo a tu track, esas eran cosas que no podíamos checar, por lo que lanzar algo se convirtió en algo difícil y poder tomar decisiones sobre los tracks que sabías no iban a tener la aprobación del dance floor.
En realidad, recibí un mail por parte de Dubfire para lan- zar un track en su sello SCI+TEC, el cual me hizo muy feliz porque amo el sello. También lancé ‘Amor’ en Mood Records (Sello de Nicole Moudaber) el cual me dejó un sentimiento enorme de agradecimiento, tuve algunos momentos buenos durante la tristeza de la pandemia.
Como un símbolo de libertad y amor aterrizamos en ‘Rave the Planet’, el himno del Love Parade en Berlín ¿Qué significa para ti el parade? ¿Cuál fue tu reacción cuando recibiste la propuesta del remix?
Desde los noventa he disfrutado del Love Parade cuan- do tan solo era una raver. Una vez toque en un auto- bús y aún lo recuerdo, fui la persona más feliz por haber sido parte de ese monumental evento. Ha influenciado mucho, ya que el Parade es tan importante para nuestra escena, especialmente su espíritu.
Siento que la escena se ha olvidado de como todo inició, lo cual es triste. Había un periodo cuando todo se trató del amor, tolerancia, paz, derechos humanos e igualdad. Aquellas cosas nos unían a todos como una familia y la música era un extra masivo. Quizá es tiempo de expandir el amir nuevamente como lo hici- mos, después de estos últimos años, siento que todos necesitan lo mismo y quizá eso sería un momento cru- cial.
Ese remix, fue un gran honor para mi, es una leyenda. ¿Qué es el amor para Klaudia Gawlas?
¡Wow! Esa es una palabra muy grande, puedes amar a la gente, a la naturaleza, pero no es lo mismo. Para mí, el amor es una energía positiva entre dos partes, una conexión. Recuerdo que cuando mi mamá murió hace 10 años, realmente lo pasé muy mal, pero me dije a mi misma, -ella me enseñó la lección más importante en la vida, y eso era el amor-. Como seres humanos tenemos sentimientos fuertes, pero el amor es lo más importante y “Si tú no te amas a ti mismo, no podrás amar a alguien más.” Esto significa para mí tratar a todos con respeto, humanos, animales, insectos, plantas. Lo importante es lo que llevas ene el corazón, el corazón dirige tu mente.

Previous year you had an extraordinary catalog of re- leases such as ‘Amor’, ‘East Row’, & Momentum EP’; Every material has its magic, sometimes a bit raw and eclectic with a powerful bass line. How would you in- troduce Gawlas’ sound to the readers? How was it for you to create the EPs in a period of uncertainty?
My music is a mixture of elements, but it has a lot of energy, power and its sometimes a bit melodic, yet al- ways forward driving. It’s not really music you chill to, so I would recommend that you take it to the gym with you! I give it all to get my listeners moving.
The last 2 years were horrible for every musician or even more for producers. No gigs and also you need the feed- back from the audience for the tracks you produced. There was no feedback from the floor, so you never knew if something still missing your track. Those were all the things we couldn´t check, so it became harder to release, and making decisions on tracks that you knew weren’t dancefloor approve.
I actually got an email from Dubfire about releasing a track on his label SCI+TEC, which I was so happy about as I love the label. I also released ‘Amor’ on Nicole’s Mood Records, which left me feeling really grateful. Some good moments in all the sadness of the pandemic.
As a symbol of freedom and love, we landed on ‘Rave The Planet’, the anthem of the Love Parade in Berlin. What does it mean for you this parade? And what was your reaction when you got the remix’s proposal?
I’ve known the Love Parade we enjoyed back in the 90s, when I was just a raver. I played there once on a truck and still remember I was the happiest person ever to be a part of such a monumental event. It influenced be greatly, as The Parade is so important for our scene, es- pecially its spirit.
I feel the scene has forgotten how everything started, which is sad. There was a time when it was all about love, tolerance, peace, human right and equality. Those things united us all together as one family with music as a massive bonus! Maybe it’s time to spread the love again the way we did, after such a horrible few years, I feel that everyone feels the same and maybe this would be a turning point.
Oh, that remix was a massive honor for me, he is a leg- end.
What is love for Klaudia Gawlas?
Wow, this is a huge word. You can love people and na- ture, but it won´t be the same. Love is for me a positive energy between two parts - it´s a connection. I remem- ber when my mom died 10 years ago, I really had a very hard time, but I said to myself, she taught me the most important lesson in life, and that was love. We as human beings have strong feelings, but love is the most im- portant thing and if you don´t love yourself you can´t love anybody else. This means also for me to treat ev- eryone with respect - humans, animals, insects, plants and mother nature. That´s the way I live. It doesn´t matter where you come from, who you are, how you look like. It´s important what’s inside your heart. The heart leads your mind.
