Nos movemos ahora a ‘Sakura EP’ con Gary Beck ¡Esto es fantástico, muchas felicidades! ¿Cómo decidieron crear este EP y qué podemos esperar de el?


Conozco a Gary desde sus primeros años, siempre he admirado su música. Durante la pandemia le pregunté si tenía tiempo para ir al estudio, pero en ese tiempo se dio el confinamiento, así que viajar no fue posible, y decidimos enviarnos el material. Terminamos con tres grandiosos tracks para el EP, no es algo muy alegre, es- tán advertidos.


¿Qué es lo que más admiras de Gary? Su groove, pero aún con un techno fast forward. He pin- chado sus tracks por años y los disfruto muchísimo como el primer día. Siempre hay una buena vibra cuan- do los toco, así que nuestra colaboración se siente muy bien.


Al principio de este año, los ojos de la comunidad in- ternacional centraron su mirada en la guerra de Ru- sia y Ucrania, e inmediatamente la escena comenzó a crear consciencia sobre la situación y a apoyar a la gente de Ucrania. La mayoría de los artistas lanzaron V/A’s, compilados, campañas, etc., y tú lo hiciste con ‘Artist for Humanitarian Aid in Ukraine’ junto a Ramiro López, Noah Noar, y Alisa Andreeva ¿Qué nos puedes decir sobre tu contribución a la causa?


Para mí ayudar es un acto humanitario, toda la gente que tuvo que dejar Ucrania a consecuencia de esta es- túpida guerra, millones de inocentes perdieron sus ho- gares, familias, vidas; etc. esto es algo horrible. Para mí siempre ha sido importante ayudar, ya sea para hacer una colecta o hacer un track para un compilado, yo hice ambas. Necesitamos estar todos juntos porque nadie quiere una guerra, esto es tan solo un desastre político, todos queremos que se detenga.


TOUR EN SUDAMERICA


Desde que las fronteras se abrieron nuevamente, tras casi dos años de confinamiento en el mundo ¿Cómo fue para ti estar de vuelta en el ruedo y cómo se dio tu primer gig después del lockdown? ¡Fue genial estar de vuelta! Recuerdo que se me puso la piel de gallina en cada gig donde pinché. Miré a la audiencia y me di cuenta de lo mucho que extrañé eso. Todas esas caras felices bailando a mi alrededor. Fue como si durante el confinamiento alguien se llevara mi respiración. Finalmente, estar en el escenario se sintió como respirar aire puro, me causó nostalgia ver cómo el mundo había cambiado tan rápido.


Tú música ha estado en gran demanda en Latino- américa ¿Qué nos puedes compartir sobre tu gira en países como Colombia, Panamá y México? En realidad, amo estar en la región, me encanta el cli- ma, la comida y su gente. Esos países tienen una de las audiencias más energéticas y adorables del mundo. Recuerdo mi primer evento en Colombia, después de mi set tuve muchos aplausos fue conmovedor, incluso tuve lágrimas en los ojos, esa reacción por parte del público fue enorme, nunca olvidaré ese momento.


El público latino tiene mucho amor y te lo manifiestan cuando estás frente a ellos y les compartes tu amor por la música. Mi último tour fue a principio de año, no pude pedir más, inició en Colombia, luego pinché en una terraza en Panamá, posteriormente regresé a Colombia para ‘Dope Festival’. También estuve en México un país que me llegó al corazón, es un lugar hermoso con tanta gente que te da su amor a través de la música, eso es lo que amo de su gente. Para mí es muy interesante ver diferentes culturas y aprender de ellas.

Then we have ‘Sakura EP’ with Gary Beck ¡That is fan- tastic, congratulations! How did you guys decide to create the EP, and what can we expect about the re- lease?


I’ve known Gary since his early years and I’ve always admired his music. During the pandemic I asked him if he had some time to go to the studio together, but there was a lockdown in place at the time and traveling was not possible, so we decided to send the files to one an- other online. We ended up with 3 amazing tracks for this EP, it’s not a light-hearted one – so be warned!


What is the thing that you admire the most about Gary? His groovy, but still fast forward techno. I’ve played his tracks now for years and enjoy them so much now as I did at the start. There is always a good vibe I get from the floor when I drop one of his tracks. So, this collabo- ration between us felt right.


At the beginning of the year, the eyes of the interna- tional community put its eyes on the war between Rus- sia and Ukraine, and immediately, our scene decided to raise awareness about the situation and support the Ukrainian people; most of you released VA compila- tions, campaigns etc.; and so do you alongside Ramiro Lopez, Noah Noar and Alisa Andreeva with ‘Artist for Humanitarian Aid in Ukraine’. What can you tell us about your contribution to this cause?


For me, helping is a humanitarian act. All the people had to leave Ukraine because of this stupid war. Millions of innocent people are losing their homes, families, lives etc - this is so horrible. It is always important for me to help, whether it´s raising money, or doing a track for a compilation and they donate the money. I did both. We need to stand together, because no one wants a war. This is just a horrible political mess. We all want it to stop.


TOUR IN SOUTH AMERICA


Since the borders opened again after two years of lock- down in the whole world, how was it for you to be back on tour, and how was your first gig after the lockdown? It was amazing to be back. I remember I had goose- bumps on every gig I´ve played, all over my body.


looked at the crowd and realized how much I missed them. All the happy faces around me, dancing to one beat. It was like someone would take my breath away during the lockdown. So finally, being on stage felt like breathing fresh air and it made me also a bit nostalgic to see how fast the world can change.


Also, your music has been in high demand in the region of Latin-American; what can you share with us about your tour around Panama, México, and Colombia.


I love to be in those regions. I love the weather, the food and the people. Those countries have one of the most energetic and adorable global crowds. I remember my first gig in Colombia, after my set I got a huge applause and this was overwhelming, I even had tears in my eyes, as the reaction of the crowd was huge - will never forget this moment!


They have so much love inside and they give it all to you, when you stand in front of them and share your love for that kind of music with them. That’s amazing My last tour was in the beginning of the year and I couldn´t ask for more. It started in Colombia, then I played New Year’s Eve on a Rooftop in Panama City (that was very special) and came back to Colombia for a Dope Festival. Not forgetting Mexico!
