Slaidburn fair Church youngsters got stuck in for Christian Aid
Forthesecondyear, Clitheroe Community Church opened its doors (and car park) for a car wash in support of Christian Aid Week. The car park was “jam-packed”, as were many of the home made cakes served to visitors as they waited for their cars to be hand washed. Craft activities, face painting and glitter tat toos kept the children entertained, too. Many of the helpers at the event were from Encounter youth
group at the church. Pastor Mark Woodward said: “Young ~ people often get bad press, but the youth rolled up their sleeves, donnedtheir wellies and worked really hard. Some of the youth group are also talented bakers, face painters and glitter tattoo artists. I’m very proud of all of them.” Kim Raynor, the church’s Christian Aid representative, added: “Some £250 was raised for Christian Aid Week, which focused on the workthe charity doesin war-torn areas. ”
