‘Stars of tomorrow’ at music festival Netball team are national champs!
Some of the country’s finest young classical and jazz musicians are coming to the Ribble Valley for this year’s Ribchester Music Festival. Artists from the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester - two of the finest music Academies worldwide - will perform at this year’s event, which runs from Saturday June 7th to Sunday the 15th.

The squad, based at Oakhill College, beat Tameside 23-22 in a thrilling final to claim the national crown. The road to glory started last September with the ultimate goal to get to the national club finals weekend, where the two top teams from the nine differ ent England Netball regions would battle it out for the title.

Ascienceteacherfrom Bow- land High School has been selected from over20,000 na tional nominations to receive a silver teaching prize in the award fo r ‘Teacher of the Year in a Secondary School’ cat egory of the prestigious 2014 PearsonTeaching Awards.
The awards are an annual cel ebration of exceptional teach ers and teaching, founded in 1999 by Lord Puttnam. They recognise the life-changing impact of an inspirational teacher on the lives of the young people they teach. Head of Science at Bowland
