Hot on the heels of the big gest and best Clitheroe Jazz Festival so far, the Ribble Valley Jazz and Blues Club presents it next regular monthly gig on Friday, June 6th. . It will feature the Soweto
Kinch Trio. Award winning alto-saxophonist and MC Soweto Kinch is one of the most exciting and versatile young musicians in both the British jazz and hip hop scenes. Undoubtedly one of the
few artists in either genre with a degree in modern his tory from Oxford University, he has amassed an impres sive list of accolades and awards-on both sides of the Atlantic - including a Mer cury Music Prize nomina tion, two UMA Awards and a MOBO for best jazz act
in 2003. In October 2007, he won his second MOBO award, at the O2 Arena, London, where he was an nounced as thewinnerin the best jazz act category - fend ing offstiffcompetition from the likes ofWynton Marsalis. The Clitheroe gig takes
place at the club’s usual ven ue, the Atrium Cafe Bar at Clitheroe Castle, which has a licensed bar, food available and ample parking. The gig starts at 8 pm
