Tudor times on Friday with an amusing production entitled Greensleeves staged by the Onatti Theatre Group. The actors warned: “If we don't like the
look of your children we'll stick them in the stocks!” Meanwhile, Year 5 pupils were treated
to the play "Rags & Riches", which brought to life the Victorian period from the houses of the slums to the Houses of Parliament. The children thoroughly enjoyed both
plays, which complemented their history units in the school’s curriculum. Our picture shows Andrew Bardwell

Ramblers head for Yorkshire A GROUP of 17 members of the Clitheroe Ramblers' Association met in Mytholmroyd in the Calder Valley to enjoy a walk over the South Pennine moors. The six-and-a-half mile walk, led by Mr
David Lancaster, started from the centre of Mytholmroyd, up the northern side of the val ley and after approximately 400 feet the path veered west along the valley side towards Heb- den Bridge.
q <- Thieves target van driver
THIEVES stole a manual pallet loader from a layby on the A59 at Gisburn.. Offenders approached a van driver
parked in the layby, between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. last Monday, and asked to bor row the grey and black loader with a grey fork to use on their van. The offenders were later seen driving away in a maroon van, which is believed to be a Mercedes Sprinter.

time this Sunday, again on May 2nd, then every Sunday from May 23rd until October 17th. It is a great value-for-money ser vice, with “2-4 fares” available from

train journey, the DalesRail service can be combined with organised walks from a number of stations along the route and led by the Lan cashire Rail Ramblers. There are five different walks
available this Sunday: O The Ingleborough Ridge - a
strenuous walk (14 miles) from Rib- blehead to Horton-in-Ribblesdale. ® Lady Anne Clifford's Walk - a
moderate walk from Garsdale to Kirby Stephen.
Thieving for a picnic
A 42-YEAR-0LD man on a day out with his girlfriend stole items from a Clitheroe supermarket so they could have a picnic. Blackburn magistrates heard that
Barry Simpson, of Nuttall Street, Accrington, placed a jar of honey, a tin of tuna and other items down the sleeves of a jacket he was carrying over his arm. And he later admitted to police that he
had tied the arms of the jacket with elastic bands so he could carry out the theft. Simpson pleaded guilty to shoplifting at
Booths. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £50 costs.
Young Farmers end up in police cells!
MEMBERS of Clitheroe Young Farmers’ Club enjoyed a tour round Clitheroe Library, including the site of the old police cells. Thanks were expressed by Fiona
Whitwell and Louise Hartley. Members and friends are reminded
