(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION O F THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2004


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to prohibit temporarily any pedestrian from proceeding over those lengths of Public Footpath Nos. 1 and 25 Clitheroe, in the Borough of Ribble Valley, indicated below:-


That part of Public Footpath No. 1 Clitheroe, Ribble Valley Borough, at Grid Ref. 7401 4266, from its


junction with Waddington Road in a general north­ easterly direction via Knunck Knowles for a distance of approximately 5 06 metres to Grid Ref. 7429 4308.


That part of Public Footpath No. 25 Clitheroe, Ribble Valley Borough, at Grid Ref. 7394 4276, from a point approximately 2 0 metres to the north-east of its junction with Waddington Road in a general north­ easterly direction for approximately 2 10 metres to Grid Ref. 7409 4290.


An alternative route is available from a point at Grid Ref. 7393 4275, on Public Footpath No. 25 at its


junction with Waddington Road and runs in a north easterly direction for a distance of approximately 20 metres. It then continues as an existing track in the park in a general south-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 57 metres and then in a general north easterly direction for a distance of approximately 450 metres where it then joins Public Footpath No. 1 Clitheroe.


The closure is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public whilst works are carried out on the Waddington to Lowcocks pipeline.


The Order will be operative from Monday, April 19th, 2004, for a period of 6 months.
