mark of how good the high-tech stuff is. The interaction between
the live characters and animated ones is also bet ter this time around, strengthening the decep tion. The film pretty much
follows the same story board that characterised all the original 1970s Hanna-Barbera cartoon classics - mysterious ghostly goings-on terrorise community, Mystery Inc arrive to solve mystery, ghosts appear, zoinksl, everyone runs around scared, Velma loses her glasses, Scooby and Shag gy eat a lot, Mystery Inc solve the mystery, the cul prit is unmasked and claims he would have got away with it if not for those pesky kids! One night of mirth!
BOLTON’S favourite son, comedian Peter Kay, is returning to Blackpool Opera House for a one- night charity “Laughter in the Air” later this month. It is in aid of the North
West Air Ambulance, which saves lives across our region. Peter Kay is one of the
stars who has agreed to raise money for the charity, alongside TV trickster and magician Paul Zenon, Steve Royle, the new come dy star from Phoenix Nights, comedy musical duo Sapphire, Ted Robbins and Comedian Harper.
THE search is on for the most talented family in Clitheroe to take centre stage in a British circus. Blackpool Tower and Circus has
launched a nationwide search to find a family of true entertainers. ’ “We want Clitheroe’s most talented
family to top the bill at Blackpool Tower by giving a performance that circus lovers will really enjoy,” said the Tower’s Mr Geoff Sage. The lucky Clitheroe family will be invit
ed to a national final, to perform in front of a panel of circus experts at the Tower,
The Air Ambulance
charity is a vital service, attending accidents often in remote and difficult-to- reach locations and trans porting casualties quickly and smoothly to hospital. It takes £750,000 a year
to keep the North West Air Ambulance airborne, but the service receives no Gov ernment funding. The “Laughter in the
Air” concert takes place on Monday, April 19th, at 7- 30 p.m. Tickets are expected to
sell out and can be booked by ringing 01253 292029.
Wanted: a family of entertainers
and every family that enters will receive a family pass to the tower. Mooky’s Magical Tower Circus, voted
the country’s best circus for four years run ning, opened at Blackpool Tower on Sat urday and this year’s shows are set to be the most spectacular. Families wishing to enter should e-mail
their details to
circus@mtjpr.co.uk, and, in no more than 150 words, outline why they are the most talented family in Clitheroe. Entries can also be sent to: Circus Talent, PO Box 7, Leyland, PR26 6WW. But hurry, the closing date is April 16th.
