My studio is a comfortable place for me. It is at the back of our garden so not a long commute. I find if I don’t feel like painting, all I have to do is to go out to the studio, say for 15 minutes, and before I know it, I have spent an hour or more. I always find something to do here, even if it is critiquing my latest painting. Nature inspires me the most - walking on woodland trails, viewing the lake during all weather conditions. I tend not to do sketches beforehand. As I said, I am too impatient. Sometimes I do an underpainting and then I make marks with pencils, graphite or markers.
