A little later, he travelled to British Columbia as far as Tofino on Vancouver Island, via the Rockies. He painted Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and Emerald Lake. He did not forget the prairies too with their grain elevators. Tremblay also travelled to Europe. His trips took him to France, Corsica, Greece,
and Spain. In Paris he discovered the Seine, the docks, Saint-Louis Island and Notre-Dame de Paris. Tremblay states, “Painting in Paris is candy for the eyes of an artist”. In 2007, in “Rêves d’Automnes” festival in Baie-Saint-Paul, ten painters from the
ten provinces of Canada for ten days experienced magical moments and perhaps even historic moments. From the start there was chemistry and what has come out of the group effort is a kind of Canadian encyclopedia. It will be a reference in Canadian history, one that remembers Louis Tremblay.
