Bill retired after working 42 years in policing and public safety in late 2013. He began painting for the first time in 2017 and still considers himself a relatively new artist who is discovering different methods and techniques with every new piece. When he initially began painting, he didn’t have a specific focus, and he painted a wide variety of subjects, including birds, boats, and barns. As his experience grew, he found that he was attracted to the time and detail required to capture images of both historic old buildings and dilapidated barns
