The challenge was to create a beauty salon/lounge area – an every girl’s dream space, in an unfinished basement for our client’s seven girls. Now they can enjoy and do their own hair at home. The color palette we chose contained pink, white, gold and silver shades. The room's layout created some challenges as there were no windows for natural light
to come through, so lighting was a key factor in this space. We added recessed lighting that helped solve the challenge. Because the area was long and narrow, we had to decide the design layout of the room to make it work with all the doors in the space. To solve this issue, we used the long wall to place the white tufted salon styling stations
with tufted rhinestones and chairs up against the wall to give that salon feel. We added liquid pink abstract wallpaper filled with shades of pink and gold behind the salon furniture, creating a beautiful accent wall. We hung gorgeous acrylic and gold pendants in between the styling stations and chairs to add a touch of glam. Behind the styling stations, we added a console table and customized the benches in a
stunning velvet pink fabric to connect the colors in the space; then hung a huge floral artwork filled with colors above the console. We also customized a banquette from the same pink fabric we used for the benches and added a table and chandelier above to add more lighting. We finished off the space by adding accessories and sheer window treatments with a silver metallic design accented on a gold rod.
