Italian engineering that sets the standards for professional kitchens
Focused on manufacturing excellence, robustness and innovation, Tecnoinox is an Italian creator of modular kitchens, professional ovens and salamanders that represent the highest level of quality. Riccardo Giacomini, Tecnoinox’s chief technical officer, discusses the company’s development over the past four decades.
S
ince launching its first products in 1984, Tecnoinox has become synonymous with the quality and durability of Italian manufacturing. For almost four decades it has grown its range of activity to encompass the complete production cycle of modular kitchens and ovens, from the steel sheet to the finished product.
During this time, the company’s story has taken many turns, all leading to its position as a leading designer and manufacturer of reliable professional cooking equipment for the hotel, restaurant and catering sectors. Its hallmark is sturdiness.
A history forged in steel “Our story was born from a passion that, in nearly 40 years, [has] transformed into experience and deep knowledge of materials and processes,” says Riccardo Giacomini, chief technical officer at Tecnoinox. “Today, we design and manufacture entirely in our factory in Porcia, Friuli- Venezia Giulia, and we strive for excellence thanks to a team of people [who are] committed every day to using the most innovative technology and historical craftsmanship and production knowledge. “For us, excellence means being able to master every single phase of the ideation and manufacturing process to offer customers the robustness they cannot do without in their daily work in the kitchen,” Giacomini adds. “Durability, reliability and customer focus – this is what we believe in.”

Putting the customer first Key to the philosophy of Tecnoinox is the focus on its customers’ needs as the starting point for the design process. From its origins as a specialist in stainless steel processing, the company soon realised that its customers could benefit from a partner that could provide finished products, leading it to introduce its first salamander models. “We are one of the leading
manufacturers in Europe and throughout our evolution our promise has not changed. No kitchen, no oven, no salamander is created just to be any product, but – millimetre by millimetre, material by material, component by component – it must be the result of careful research into the customer’s needs,” explains Giacomini. The company’s overarching goal is to deliver kitchens that clients can trust. “Our aim has always been to satisfy the primary need of chefs, restaurateurs, professionals and HoReCa operators to work in a kitchen they can trust – a kitchen where processes, operations and performance are simple, efficient and profitable,” Giacomini adds. “Today, our modular cooking lines and ovens are sold in Italy and Europe, and we are developing new markets in Asia and other areas that have been long- standing strategic priorities, such as the Middle East.’’
At the forefront of the mind for many customers is sustainability in all its forms, so Tecnoinox has made that one of its top design priorities. It is now in a phase of hiring talented young people who are
eager to learn and prepared to put Lean principles and Industry 4.0 technologies at the heart of the business.
“Our data confirm that the recent growth in sales volumes is only the beginning of a lasting, profitable and sustainable trend. Hence [we have] the opportunity to update equipment and manufacturing processes, while maintaining the focus on minimising energy consumption and pollutant emissions,” says Giacomini.
“Upgrading specific product lines in order to maximise the energy efficiency of appliances, without affecting our high standards of reliability and safety, will be crucial,” he adds.
Thinking ahead The company’s latest offering is Tecnocompact, an innovative digital electric combi oven. “It is the ideal solution for kitchens where optimising space and workflow is needed, while excellent cooking results with maximum personal control by the chef are a must,” Giacomini remarks. “The excellence of Tecnocompact joins the other key products in the Tecnoinox range, such as the salamanders, our modular lines and Core, our first innovative monobloc.” Every product made with Tecnoinox technology is born from a passion for cooking and excellence in manufacturing. There is no doubt the company will continue to set the tone for consistent cooking results, efficient organisation and durability. ●
