ntegrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2023 promised to deliver a vibrant edition, showcasing a wealth of new technology and providing plenty of opportunities to connect with leaders and innovators throughout the audiovisual and systems integration industries. In fact, ISE 2023 was at least 30% bigger than in 2022. There is a strong argument to say that there is no sector where customer experience is more critical than hospitality. In hotels, restaurants and bars, the degree to which the customer feels comfortable and looked after, as well as the overall ambience, can have as much of an influence on customer satisfaction as the quality of the food or the thread count of the bedsheets.

As in other sectors, though, the increasing quality of technology in customers’ daily lives is raising their expectations when they subsequently visit hospitality venues. So, the industry needs to raise its game and offer superior experiences at every point.

From online ordering, self-checkouts and touchless payments to delivery and pick-up, technology presents unique solutions for hotel, food and beverage establishments to differentiate themselves and run more efficiently. In turn, this gives their owners more time and energy to focus on delighting guests with memorable experiences. At a minimum this requires increased use of digital signage to enhance branding and increase efficiency.
What was on offer Visitors discovered the future of the smart hotel, restaurant and catering market, and the technology benefits to businesses at ISE 2023.
From electronic menus and one-touch ordering to fully automated cyber-concierge services, the experience is being digitised faster than ever. Although ISE encompasses a huge breadth of audiovisual technologies, it is also one of the largest digital signage exhibitions in the world. The Digital Signage & DooH Zone in Hall 6 was home to the gamut of digital signage technology, including Ameria, Broadsign, Navori Labs, Telelogos and Zebrix; media players from Yodeck, as part of its cloud-based DS system, as well as from market leader Brightsign; and displays from manufacturers including Alfalite, Dicolor and LEDECA. Integrated Systems Events is a joint venture between AVIXA and CEDIA – the two leading associations for the global audiovisual industry. ●
