Marriott signs new Saudi deal


Marriott International announced it has signed an agreement with The Red Sea Development Company to debut its distinguished Ritz-Carlton Reserve brand off the west coast of Saudi Arabia. Slated to debut in 2023, Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, is expected to form part of the eagerly anticipated Red Sea destination


and offer a highly personalised leisure experience that blends intuitive and heartfelt service with stunning natural beauty and indigenous design. Nujuma will be the first property from the brand in the Middle East and joins an exclusive collection of only five Ritz-Carlton Reserves worldwide.


Hilton launches new staff educational programme

ELLE launches new hospitality venture


Internationally renowned brand, ELLE, has announced its debut into the hospitality world with the launch of two new boutique concepts – Maison ELLE and ELLE Hotel. The bold new venture marks an important step in the brand’s lifestyle and experiences evolution, as it is the first of its kind from a global media group. Owned by Lagardère Group, ELLE is headquartered in Paris, France.

Two hospitality tech veterans inducted into hall of fame


Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) has announced two champions of hospitality technology, Jeff Bzdawka and Jeff Edwards, as the 2022 HFTP International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame inductees, both recognised for their experience and leadership in promoting hospitality innovation and technology. serves as CEO at Knowland, while Edwards is senior vice-president of property, owner and enterprise products and platforms at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).


The 2022 inductees will be honoured at the upcoming HITEC event in Orlando, Florida on 28 June. The Hall of Fame is HFTP’s highest level of recognition.


Nobu acquires


fifth hotel in Spain Nobu Hospitality, the leading luxury lifestyle and iconic hotel and dining brand, has now announced its fifth Spanish hotel and restaurant in the elegant capital city of Madrid. Centrally positioned in the heart of the Spanish capital’s Cortes District, Nobu Hotel Madrid will see the transformation of an existing office building, located at 26 Calle Alcalá, between Plaza de Cibeles and Puerta del Sol. The hotel will offer a tri-level Nobu restaurant and bar, an expansive rooftop bar and a lounge with views over the skyline together with a state-of-the-art fitness centre and spa. The restaurant will be reimagined by the renowned Californian architectural and design group, Studio PCH, led by Severine Tatangelo. Studio PCH has designed multiple Nobu properties including the highly acclaimed Nobu Malibu and the Nobu Hotel San Sebastián, opening in 2023.


Radisson Hotel


Group outlines plans Building on Radisson Hotel Group’s (RHG) 2021 milestone as the most successful year ever in terms of signings, the company shared an update at this year’s International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF) outlining its impressive projections that include the opening of 15,000 rooms and achieving the signing of a total of 330 hotels in the EMEA and APAC regions in 2022, as well as planned targets for continued growth of the company’s mid-scale lifestyle brand, prizeotel.


RHG has had a strong start to 2022, signing over 50 new properties across its EMEA and APAC portfolio. The company revealed expansion plans for its prizeotel brand, which offers owners and investors a new, easy conversion solution. Prizeotel is a value-engineered, high-design-focused brand for tech-savvy, connected midscale lifestyle travellers in vibrant, urban locations offering convertible and flexible spaces. The company plans to expand its existing prizeotel portfolio with 45 new signings in select EU countries in the next five years, as well as introduce the brand to the UK.
