Hal wrote and starred in his own sitcom, Hal on BBC Radio 4.

“150 years is a mind-boggling number and we’re looking forward to having an anniversary party at the Awards on September 15,” said TTJ editor Stephen Powney. “It will be great to have companies across the timber trading, manufacturing, joinery and structural timber industries gathering together for this fun and rewarding day.” The event rewards excellence in the wood product industries in the form of voted and judged entries.

The voted entries cover the product areas of softwood, hardwood, wood-based panels, joinery, structural timber systems and timber garden products, as well as small timber businesses and the merchanting area. Judged categories include the newly re-launched TTJ Innovation Prize, the Career Development Awards, Excellence in Marketing, Environmental Achievement and Timber Merchanting Development. ■
