Jon Nappa’s MFA ’12 teleplays, Perils of the Soloist (episode of When Calls the Heart) and All In (movie of the week), were produced by Hallmark Television and INSP, respectively. His self-published master’s thesis, What Longfellow Heard, earned rave reviews and was a 2018 Maine Literary Award finalist. His series of inspirational children’s books was traditionally published by Harvest House.

David Owens-Hill MA ’12 moved back to San Francisco with his hubby after several years in New York City. It feels good to be “home” in California, but he misses those golden evening hours walking to class in the Dana Building before Knight-Crane Hall was renovated. He recently started work as the director of communications at California College of the Arts.

Michael K. Brantley’s MFA ’14 nonfiction book,Galvanized: Te Odyssey of a Reluctant Carolina Confederate, was nominated for the Sam Ragan Old North State Nonfiction Award. Te book, about a North Carolina man who fought in both armies during the Civil War, was published in May 2020 by the University of Nebraska Press/Potomac Books.


Te class expresses sympathy to Cherise Belnavis Johnson MBA ’15 on the death of her mother, Christine L. Belnavis, who passed away on September 17, 2020.


Stephanie Hale MS ’16 is the co-host ofWork It, a podcast that looks at the complicated relationship people have with their work and how it shapes their view of the world.


Irene Salley MSN ’18 notes that the acquisition of a graduate degree at Queens proved to be rigorous. Te challenges that came along with it strengthened her faith in God and solidified her ability to persevere. Te same rigor of academic standards prepared Irene for the position she is in now as adjunct faculty in a BSN program.


After graduation, Hannah Skurzewski MBA ’20 moved to Vancouver, Washington, and works for MARKS Design and Metalworks, LLC as a marketing and special projects
