Ginny Harlan Snell and her husband, Mike, moved to Penang, Malaysia, in October 2020. Tey are there for Mike’s job with Lam Research and expect to be abroad for three to five years. Ginny reports that Penang is a fascinating location and that they are looking forward to traveling as much as possible once the pandemic is under control. As expected, their three children hope to visit. Since travel opportunities are currently limited, Ginny and Mike are exploring Penang and enjoying the wonderful foods and beautiful tropical scenery.

Lachlan Collins Bertaux retired from 28 years in business management to realize her dream of teaching art. She is enjoying middle schoolers in a Savannah public school. She also paints commissions for clients nationwide and internationally. Last June, she married David Bertaux and was widowed ninety days later when he passed away from injuries sustained from a vehicle accident. She counts her blessings having adult sons and a foster daughter, who is a former art student.

1991 Caroline Caton made the move back to a warmer climate, her hometown of Gainesville, Florida, in September 2020 (mid-pandemic). She has been enjoying the wonderful weather, not having to shovel snow and quilting on her new toy, a long-arm machine. Caroline is currently working as the manager of social services at Oak Hammock, a senior living community, where she is in the process of developing a comprehensive social services program for the independent living residents.

McCormick, Julie Tomas Walton, Lisa Bynum, Andrea McCrary and Amanda Knox Vestal during the pandemic with periodic Zoom calls. In this reunion year, they hope all others in the 1991 class will stay well so that they can convene safely next year.

Stephanie Smith Rainey lives in Greenville, South Carolina, with her husband of five years, Clay Rainey. Her daughter, Ruth Parker Bauknight, will graduate from Ole Miss this year, and son, Tres Bauknight, is a junior at Te McCallie School. She is head of development for the Greenville County Museum of Art, and in her spare time, she loves to look for beautiful antiques, arrange flowers and enjoy a good glass of red wine!


1992 Twenty years of teaching in public high schools, and this may be the toughest one forKevin Harris with all of the changes that came about due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He’s gotten into pickleball over the past 16 to 18 months but still plays tennis. He recently had a heck of an adventurous trip to Texas and back. Connie Weber continues to practice law in Charleston, West Virginia. She now has two kids in college. Jack will graduate from the University of Denver with a Masters in Accountancy, and Amelia started her freshman year at Butler University in the fall. Sam is now the only child who remains at home, and he’s not quite sure how he feels about having all of mom and dad’s attention.

Jennifer Lawrence Grennan and her husband, Phil, relocated to Fort Worth, Texas, to be near family. Jennifer will continue to teach as an adjunct at Queens when she joins Texas Christian University (TCU) as an accounting instructor this fall.


1997 Amy Bache Herring uses her degree in studio art as she styles and crafts each head of hair that sits in her chair. She especially enjoys time with fellow alumni whenever they come into the salon. Amy is happily married to Jason Herring, an artist, musician, DJ and producer. Tey are in a band together called Te Mystery Plan and cannot wait to perform again when it is safe to do so. Amy and Jason have a beautiful and talented daughter, Greta. She is a musical theatre major at Northwest School of the Arts and will be a freshman in high school in the 2021/2022 school year. Greta is also a competitive dancer and honor roll student. More importantly, she’s a pretty cool kid and is lots of fun.


1998 Heather Connelly Brownfield, a senior district manager in the Women’s Health Division of AbbVie, was recently nominated for the 2020 AbbVie Working Mother of the Year Award. Heather and her husband, Andrew


Brownfield ’97, have two daughters — Brooklyn, 9, and Kennedy, 7. Heather’s career with AbbVie spans more than 20 years. An incredible wife and mother, Heather takes great pride in her commitment to serving others and is an inspiration to her family and co-workers.
