elcome to the November issue of Business Traveller, and one where we can begin to talk about a new venture to complement our website, television channel, social media, You Tube flight reviews and, of course, the magazine you are reading, whether in print or digital format.

I’m sure many of you would agree that our travelling lives have never been busier

and, the more we travel, the more we tend to feel alienated, particularly when it comes to making new acquaintances. While it is easier than ever to stay in touch with friends and family through Facetime, Whatsapp and Skype, as far as more public forums go, well, it’s oſten said that social media would be better named antisocial media. So what to do about it? As many of you know, we have a vibrant and popular forum

at businesstraveller.com; a place where travellers have become friends and subsequently even organised their own social occasions. It prompted us to think about creating our own events to bring our readers together. Many of you will have read about or even attended our functions in the past, from

Editor’s Lunches to celebratory tastings at our annual Cellars in the Sky. Well, this autumn we are taking things to a new level by preparing a series of events for you, our readers, to meet us, and your peers. We believe there’s more appetite than ever before among frequent travellers to swap stories and have an enjoyable lunch or evening. To find out more and to register your interest, head over to Business Traveller Events (businesstravellerevents.com). We hope to see you soon.
