Symphony Senior Living recently rebranded as Symerica Senior Living and has moved its headquarters to Florida. In the United States, the company’s portfolio includes six commu- nities in Iowa, five in Georgia, and one in Florida. In Canada, the company operates an additional four communities, for a total of 16.


Headquartered in West Allis, Wis., Heritage Senior Living announced that it will open its 15th senior living community this summer located in Kimberly. The community, Aspire Senior Living, will feature 136 total residences including 45 independent living apartments, 48 assisted living apartments, and 43 mem- ory care suites.


West Linn, Ore.-based, Ridgeline Manage- ment Company, announced the addition of two new communities to its portfolio: Os- mond Senior Living in Lindon and Osmond Senior Living Memory Care in Salt Lake.


Steadfast Senior Living, based in Irvine, Calif., announced plans to develop a new property in Morgan Hill, Calif. The new community will feature 67 studio, one- and two-bedroom residences for assisted living and memory care. Groundbreaking is ex- pected to begin in summary of 2017 and with an anticipated opening in 2018.


Based in Tucson, Ariz., Watermark Retirement Communities recently opened The Hacienda at the River. The new Tucson community offers assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and hospice care, and features on-site equine and horticultural therapies through a healthcare collaborative with pio- neers from the University of Arizona and the Tucson area healthcare community.

Vero Beach, Calif.-based Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA) announced the appoint- ment of Gottfried Ernst as vice president of hospitality. He will be primarily responsible for designing, planning, and implement- ing standards, policies, and programs that positively impact the delivery of services to HRA’s residents nationwide. HRA also announced the appointment of Christopher Thompson as national director of culinary services. He will be responsible for imple- menting new culinary programs and inno- vations in HRA’s communities nationwide. Additionally, HRA announced a compa- ny-wide commitment to have all eligible executive directors earn the Certified irec- tors of Assisted Living (CDALs) credential.


OnShift, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, announced the winners of its annual Sched- uler of the Year Awards, which recognize members of their teams who demonstrate scheduling excellence to improve opera- tional, clinical, and financial outcomes in their organizations. Seven winners were announced from Bradford County Man- or, New Perspective Senior Living, Essex Meadows, Hobbs Health Care Center, Lan- fair Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing Care, Northwood Retirement Community, and Marklund.

Based in Lake Oswego, Ore., Anthem Memory Care announced two new appointments: Jen- nifer Mallo was named executive director of Harvester Place in Burr Ridge, Ill. and Michael Zywicki was named exec- utive director of Emerald Place, scheduled to open in Glenview, Ill. this fall. Mallo most recently worked as the director of


sales for Brighton Gardens of St. Charles


and Zywicki previously was administrator of the dementia care community, Silverado Highland Park.
