ARGENTUM SENIOR LIVING EXECUTIVE CONFERENCE EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS
This year, three dozen educational sessions tackled topics across all five Argentum imperatives (quality improvement, workforce development, operational excellence, consumer choice, and memory care), as well as topics relevant to specialized track “Insights from the C-Suite,” featuring thoughts from senior living executives. More than 130 speakers from inside and outside the senior living industry shared their insights in areas from recruiting millennials and serving LGBTQ residents to responding to an active shooter threat and defining a brand in a crowded marketplace.
Thanks to educational track sponsors, Beecher Carlson, HCP, MatrixCare, OnShift, SLCC, and VISA.
“This was the most power- packed, informative conference I’ve ever attended. It was such a refresher. Very motivational and
directed to our industry.” —Bobby Adkins, executive director, Elmcroft Senior Living
WHAT I WISH I KNEW — RESIDENT FOCUS GROUP
“People will never forget how you make them feel.”
—Resident focus group participant
This year, a resident focus group entitled “What I Wish I Knew” engaged current residents of Nashville-area senior living communities, asking them questions such as “What would you want that you don’t have,” “What should you have asked before selecting a community,” and “How do you feel you are perceived by employees?” Overall, participants in the group cited that they feel safe at their communities and that living in a senior living community gives them peace of mind for themselves and for their children. They also like the idea of a ‘built-in community,’ with support and friends, and the ability to select a personalized level of engagement with that community when desired. When asked what sealed the deal for them in selecting their respective communities, people, location, and financials topped the list.
