The husband-and-wife team behind Towneley Park Nursery in Burnley, is expanding its childcare business across Lancashire with the purchase of Kirkham-based private day care nursery, Tree Tots Nursery, in a deal supported by Rosebud. Helen and Nigel Harrison-Howarth first took over Towneley Park in 2016 and transformed it from the brink of closure into a thriving facility with 25 dedicated staff. It now provides early years education and a holiday club for 120 children aged up to 11.
Phil Ainsworth is celebrating 35 years with Blackburn family business Ainsworth Jewellers. Founded by Joseph Ainsworth more than 150 years ago, the business has remained in family hands across five generations. Phil, who is the great-great-grandson of Joseph, joined the store on Darwen Street in 1990 at just 24.
