THE RENOVATIONS
Following a major renovation project, completed in 2019, Theodore House beat nine finalists to win that year’s regional Building Excellence award from the Local Authorities Building Control network.
The building was created from the ruins of a former Victorian working mill which had served a Jesuit school from 1840 until its closure in the middle of the last century.
Comprising a three-storey block with parallel pitched roofs, the corn mill was powered by water from the two canal ponds that still grace the college’s main driveway.
The building lay derelict until a new independent charitable trust was formed in 2012 to raise restoration funds.
PEACE IN THE VALLEY
One of Lancashire’s newest events venues may also be its most tranquil.
Nestled within the picturesque Stonyhurst Estate deep within the Ribble Valley, visitors from across the UK have remarked upon the peaceful atmosphere to be found at Theodore House, beginning with the iconic driveway and enduring throughout their stay.
The eye-catching venue is open and welcoming businesses and their guests through its doors once more after the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted its initial launch.
Now it is winning high praise for its flexible, ultramodern facilities for conferences, events, launches, seminars, corporate away days and business meetings as well as its catering options and on-site B&B accommodation.
First-rate business facilities
The flexible events space can host everything from a small, off-site boardroom meeting to a 150-guest event.
Seating and tables can be arranged to suit the type of event, and the rooms themselves can be divided up to provide smaller, intimate spaces, or completely open-plan for larger group gatherings.
Theodore House also offers ample parking, Wi-Fi throughout, audio-visual and IT support and on-site catering facilities as standard.
On-site catering and accommodation
The exquisite dining room overlooks the luscious garden and woods around Theodore House and provides seating for up to 40 guests.
A terraced area surrounded by pleached- trees offers a tranquil outdoor space to take tea or coffee.
Menu options can be specifically tailored to each event and its budget, ranging from an open buffet or pass-around canapés through to fine dining. Using locally sourced produce when possible will impress even the most discerning guest.
Being fully-licensed, Theodore House also offers a range of quality alcoholic beverages, including locally-produced beers and spirits.
And whether guests are traveling from further afield or planning an early start or late finish, they can take advantage of the 24 modern and comfortable bedrooms, all of which are ensuite and feature luxurious linens, continental breakfast, Wi-Fi, bathroom amenities and tea and coffee facilities as standard.
A unique offering in an idyllic location, for conferences, events, meetings and B&B needs, in the heart of the Ribble Valley.
