More than 70 golfers from local businesses braved adverse weather conditions to compete in the inaugural Root Fifty-Two 4-ball charity golf day at Nelson Golf Club. The event raised more than £5,300 for The Brain Tumour Charity.

HUB MEMBER SPOTLIGHT Richard Lee, technical director of Seriun My sector and specialities

We provide fully managed business IT and communications services as well as cyber security solutions. We are also an official IASME Cyber Essentials Plus Assessor, which enables us to assess and award the CE+ accreditation to our customers.

My biggest achievement so far

Blackburn-based eBusiness UK impressed new client Optical Revolution so quickly that its digital marketing contract was extended five times in as many months. The web development and marketing agency recently recruited three apprentices to support its continued growth.

Preston-based commercial and residential property developer Providence Gate Group Holdings is to open a new £30m hotel, The Abersoch, in summer 2024. Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall Solicitors, which has seven offices across Lancashire, advised on the acquisition of the site in Wales.

Preston-based law firm Napthens has been reappointed to the National Farmers’ Union legal panel for Lancashire and Cumbria for another three years.

We have proudly sustained year-on-year growth for the past 20 years and have grown a 40 strong team of some of the best technical minds in Lancashire.

During lockdown we opened a second office in Manchester which has proved to be influential in attracting city-based customers and local talent in the area.

My ambitions for the future

Continued growth, in particular continuing our expansion into Manchester.

But no matter how big we become, we will hold on to our Lancashire roots and live by the mantra ‘everyone matters’ treating all our customers and employees with the utmost care and respect.

With cyber crime ever changing and increasing, we want to grow and develop our cyber security offering. Cyber Essentials Plus is fast becoming a necessity in the professional services sector and as one of only two official certifying bodies in the Lancashire, we want to be the go-to name for CE+ accreditations.

Richard Lee Who I’m looking to do business with

We are looking to work with forward thinking SMEs that require rigorous levels of compliance. Businesses who regard IT as integral to their business rather than just another overhead. We are sector agnostic but would be particularly interested in the legal, hospitality, manufacturing and engineering sectors.
