Lancashire Business View has bolstered its board and announced key promotions and appointments.
Stephen Bolton has been made managing director of the independent media business with publisher Richard Slater moving into the role of chairman.
Rachael Norris has been promoted to marketing and events director and joins Richard and Stephen on the board of the company.
The internal moves follow the appointment of Joanne Hindley as sales director at the Blackburn headquartered business.

He said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for everyone connected with Lancashire Business View. We see genuine growth opportunities across the county.
“While our core values, which have served us so well, will remain the same, our appetite for growth through our existing channels and the introduction of new products and services is increasing.”
Rachael joined the business in 2014 as marketing manager, later adding events management to her portfolio. Lancashire Business View stages around 40 events each year including the national award- winning Red Rose Awards which Rachael has managed since 2019.
She said: “I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to develop all Lancashire Business View’s brands and events.
“I’m looking forward to my new role as a board director and playing my part in the
next stages of the business as we continue to develop our offering and our support to the county’s business community.”
Richard Slater said: “These
announcements highlight the strength- in-depth we have as a business as we continue to grow while keeping our focus on supporting and championing Lancashire’s business community.
“Stephen has played an instrumental role in building Lancashire Business View’s relationships and partnerships with companies and organisations in all sectors across the county. His knowledge of the business community is second to none and his contribution to our business is immense.”
He added: “Rachael has been a key member of our decision team for many years and she is committed to the business, its aims and ambitions. Her promotion to the board is a reward for that and recognition of all she brings to us.”
Joanne Hindley has joined Lancashire Business View’s team from Burnley based Peter Scott Printers where she was managing director.
Joanne said: “I’m enjoying the new challenge, playing my part in the success of Lancashire Business View as it continues on its mission to connect the county and to be the independent champion of its business community.”
Richard said: “Joanne brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our organisation through the range of roles she has had during her career.
“She also has extensive business contacts and relationships which she has built and nurtured over almost three decades.”
RECORD TO SHOUT ABOUT
This year’s North West Business Expo saw 130 exhibitors and more than 1,400 delegates flock to the Bolton Stadium Hotel.
One of three annual business exhibitions from Shout Expo, NWBE 2022 sold out its exhibition space more quickly than any other and delegate registrations smashed all records.
Businesses from across the North West and beyond arrived at the event, keen to make new connections and promote their products and services. Lancashire Business View was a media partner.
Jordan Conlin, director of Shout Expo, said: “The exhibitors really pulled their hats out of their expo bags. Each year, they become increasingly adventurous, so we saw some fantastic stands.
“There was a real buzz around the venue, and everyone seemed to be having a really good time. We’ve already booked next year’s event for October 6, 2023!”
The spotlight was turned on north Lancashire businesses as a special showcase returned after a three-year absence caused by the pandemic.
North Lancs Expo 2022 highlighted the diversity of skills and industry that exists in the north of the county and the one-day event at Lancaster and Morecambe College attracted more than 80 exhibitors.
The event organisers, Lancaster and District Chamber of Commerce, put together a lively programme that included a ‘conversation café’ and a breakfast networking event.
Lancashire Business View was a media partner of the expo and breakfast speakers included its chairman Richard Slater.
The event was held in partnership with the college and Lancaster City Council. Council chief executive Mark Davies said: “It really highlighted the strength and depth of the business community we have in our area.”
EVAS WINNERS SHINE
The winners of this year’s Enterprise Vision Awards stepped up to receive their accolades in front of more than 700 guests at a glittering event at The Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
The awards ceremony, organised by Pink Link Ladies, recognised the achievements of disruptors, innovators, creators and nurturers who are motivating and inspiring the next generation to chase their entrepreneurial dream and achieve success.
The UK’s largest business awards dedicated solely to women honoured the winners in 18 categories, plus a special outstanding achievement award on a night that shone as brightly as the resort’s Illuminations.
Lancashire had its highest number of winners for years with 10 awards being won across the county.
Lancashire Business View was media partner for the event. A full list of the winners and more on the big night can be found at www.
