rossendale.gov.uk Who we are
Rossendale Borough Council is a non-metropolitan local authority that works with Lancashire County Council and Whitworth Parish Council to deliver local government functions and services for the district.
What we’ve achieved
As a council we are working hard to improve the valley, and our vision is to have a thriving economy, built around our changing town centres, creating a quality environment for all, and improving the life chances of all those living and working here.
We continue to deliver against this ambition, and have set out our future plans and objectives up to 2025 against our four key priorities: thriving local economy, high quality environment, healthy and proud communities and an effective and efficient council.
Why we love Rossendale
Rossendale is built on 200 years of industrial heritage and is facing a bright future.
Surrounded by a fantastic natural environment, there is huge opportunity here to grow the local economy, build on our strong advanced manufacturing base, and provide good quality job opportunities for local people.
The level of ambition to do this in the Valley is self-evident.
Rob Huntington Chief executive, Rossendale Borough Council

What we’ve achieved
Boys has recently completed three high-profile residential sites in Rossendale and is currently building in Worsthorne.
We have a sizeable commercial development in Bolton which is fully let and sold, apart from the final phase.
We are also working on National Trust property, educational establishments and building out a £6.75m Sport and Diagnostics Centre in Sheffield.
Why we love Rossendale
The owners were all brought up in Bacup and have employed many Rossendalians over the years.
Our commitment to investing locally is self-evident in the portfolio of property owned within the borough, and the development work which has given confidence to others to build family homes here.
It’s a fantastic location, close enough to the city but set in beautiful countryside, and the Valley people are honest, hardworking individuals.
