RAISING A GLASS…

NEWS SITS AT THE HEART OF ONLINE INVESTMENT

A major online investment by Lancashire Business View includes a new-look state-of-the-art website to boost its news service to the county.

Blackburn Beer and Gin Festival opened with a bang as more than 100 businesses attended a hugely successful exclusive sponsor event.

Individuals had the opportunity to network with some of the biggest businesses in east Lancashire whilst sampling the finest beers and gins.

The three-day event showcased a line-up of 60 ales sourced by headline sponsor, Bowland Brewery, as well as a range of lagers and ciders from local producers. Visitors also had the opportunity to try a range of gins sourced from Darwen-based Whitehall Distillery and enjoy food and live entertainment. Lancashire Business View was festival media sponsor.

The event at Blackburn Rugby Club is Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone’s biggest fundraiser, Malcolm Ireland, who chairs the festival committee, said: “The festival is one of the most successful fundraising events in east Lancashire. It raises vital funds for a local charity that is close to our hearts and is a pleasure to be a part of every year.”

The newly launched site will make it even easier for businesses to share their news with the multi-media company’s growing audiences. It is part of a programme of improvements designed by the company to further strengthen its position as the prime source of Lancashire business news, information and intelligence - in print, online and through its growing number of events.

As well as the award-winning Lancashire Business View magazine, the Blackburn-based multi-media company delivers an online news service to its readers and is also behind the highly acclaimed Red Rose Awards, an annual celebration of excellence across the county.

The website aims to champion, inform and give a voice to Lancashire’s commercial community and includes a hugely improved LBV Hub membership platform – making it easier for companies and organisations to share their news and views. Lancashire Business View appointed Chorley-based digital agency Bespoke to undertake the project. The new site is now live after months of behind- the-scenes work.

One of Lancashire Business View’s main aims is to connect the county. Richard Slater, who chairs the company, said: “The investment in this new website reflects the growing hunger for positive and informative news, views and opinion from Lancashire-based authors among Lancashire-based readers.

“We launched LBV Hub ten years ago to help businesses connect with their peers and it has grown at an incredible rate.

“Starting as an online platform for sharing news, we have since launched networking events for Hub members, added pages in our bi-monthly magazine dedicated to promoting Hub content, and we’ve employed an LBV team member dedicated solely to the Hub.”

“The website also gives us an opportunity to continue to grow and develop our daily news service at a time when other publishers are shrinking their coverage of Lancashire’s business community and the topics that matter to it.”

Bespoke, which previously developed the Red Rose Awards online presence, says the new website improves navigation of editorial content while also introducing a new two-tiered version of LBV Hub.

The Lancashire Business Expo 2023 opened its doors to an unprecedented number of businesses and visitors who flocked to the big event at Preston’s Guild Hall.

It is Shout Expo’s flagship event and with more than 120 exhibitors and exhibition partners showcasing their businesses to over 1,600 visitors from across the North West this year was a massive hit.

Organisers say the success of #LBE2023 is the strongest indicator yet that the Lancashire business community is back to its best, with plenty more growth and innovation to come. The two floors of the iconic Preston Guild Hall were packed with striking, vibrant and interactive stands where business opportunities could be discussed and new connections forged.

The event hashtag #LBE2023 was trending throughout the day with attendees and exhibitors competing for top spot on the Tweet Wall. Lancashire Business View was media partner once again.

Jordan Conlin, director of Shout Expo, said: “Lancashire Business Expo is our flagship event that we look forward to every year. It never fails to draw top Lancashire businesses and crowds of visitors keen to connect with people they wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to meet.

“This year’s LBE was off the scale – so much fun. Preston Guild Hall was buzzing. We’re all exhausted, but we’re already excited about 2024!

“A huge thanks to all our partners and exhibitors who made the expo such a huge success, and to the visitors who came along to see what the fuss is all about and give our exhibitors the chance to showcase their services.”

Lovelocalexpo, an annual exhibition of businesses from all sectors and corners of Lancashire, took place in Burnley at the end of March. Lancashire Business View was exclusive media partner.

Bespoke co-founder and CEO Steve Brennan said: “Lancashire Business View has become a huge brand within the county, representing a real connection point and champion of its business community.

Bespoke also developed the Red Rose Awards platform. The website is now live at www.lancashirebusinessview.co.uk
