Fox Brothers Group is a fourth-generation family business based in Blackpool.
Established in 1932, the company’s humble beginnings created a core ethos and culture that is still represented throughout the company today.
Fox Brothers has been operating across the North West for over 80 years and specialise in the supply and haulage of arisings and aggregates, recycled materials, earthworks, plant hire and waste solutions.
Originally founded by Jack Fox, Fox Brothers soon established itself as a prominent local business when Jack’s son Harold Fox took over operations. Known to many as Barney, Harold Fox (whose initials still feature across the company’s striking fleet today) was a driving force in the company’s progression from a small family business to the company it is today.
After the passing of Harold Fox in 2007, Paul Fox took over operations. Paul was determined to continue driving the business further and with strategic business acquisitions and heavy investment Fox Brothers continued to grow.
The company grew steadily between 2007 and 2019 and provided the platform for the acquisition of Hurt Plant Hire Limited in September 2020 and J J O’Grady Limited in August 2021.
Challenges associated with the Coronavirus pandemic were addressed by the company in early 2020 and this helped the company grow significantly as a result of the increase in demand in the construction sector.
The Fox Group is a group of companies that specialise in the supply and haulage of aggregates, recycled materials, muck-shift, earthworks, plant hire, demolition, civil engineering, street lighting, highways maintenance and waste solutions.
Collectively it offers services to a range of customers across the house building, civils, infrastructure, highways and wider construction sectors.

The Fox Group of companies consists of Fox Brothers, Hurt Plant Hire, CMP Plant Hire, Bacup Clay Company, Fox Properties, Celplas PVC Ltd and JJ O’Grady Limited. Each company brings a dimension to the group allowing for greater service provisions and spanning across a wider service area, with the Fox Group now able to compete for contracts across the UK.

Paul Fox, group managing director Most recent key projects have included:
• Enabling works to prepare development plots within the Samlesbury Enterprise Zone site for Lancashire County Council
• First phase civils package for infrastructure works on the Port Salford inland freight terminal
• Providing aggregate haulage as part of extension works to Ronaldsway Airport in the Isle of Man
• Provision of logistics operations at Glasson Docks • Provision of earthworks and recycling services at RAF Fairford
Looking towards the future, Fox’s plan is to continue to grow both organically and through selective high-quality acquisitions that assist and strengthen the company’s current services and help to build on the foundations that the company was first established on.
