PRODUCT NEWS

quickly get the new fleet on the road. This included the addition of three 1- Series and one 3-Series petrol jetting machines.

“The main factor in choosing the 1- Series jetters was the fact they are lightweight and cost-effective,” explains Mark. “They are more than adequate for the work we do, which includes a range of maintenance programmes as a Tier 2 Framework contractor for Yorkshire Water.”

The 1-Series jetter, the most compact in the Andy Guest range, is designed to comfortably fit in smaller commercial vehicles, leaving ample space for additional drainage equipment. It boasts a fuel-efficient 24Hp air-cooled V- Twin petrol OHV engine and a triplex plunger pump capable of producing 3000psi @ 8gpm.

Furthermore, it incorporates a range of fail-safe features, including automatic HP pump protection, an unloader valve system, and an anti-freeze valve as standard. The units are designed for user convenience, with an electronic control panel for ease of operation and a remote-control system to ensure safe single-person operations.

In addition to installing the jetters in the

vans, the team at Andy Guest implemented various modifications to optimise storage and safety, including racking for tools and work beacons on the van's front and back.

MRMS entrusts these new vans to a single engineer, who conducts inspections and maintenance of Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs). This demanding work involves confined space entry into the CSOs to assess their condition and address any blockages or defects using high-pressure water jetting. All work performed is meticulously recorded through a data capture app and reported back to the client.

MRMS's scope of services also extends to PPM surveys and drain cleaning for Yorkshire Water. Tom Persson, Business Development Director for MRMS, who has worked in the wastewater industry for over 20 years, praised the versatility of the compact jetting vans, particularly in busy urban areas where securing the vans during operations is paramount.

“The new units are perfect, and we’ve had no issues at all,” he explains. “They are very user-friendly and the lads love using them. Because they are so lightweight, we’re also saving on wear

and tear on the vans.”

Tom approached Andy Guest having known of the company for many years. He says he was impressed by the turnaround time and the attention to detail he received from the team.

“We were 100% happy with service”, adds Tom. “Working with them was very easy and straightforward. We brought the van into Andy Guest in the morning and Jason and the team had the jetter fitted and ready to go by 5pm. The guys certainly knew what they were doing.”

Tom also explains that on the back of purchasing the new drainage vans, MRMS has also invested in a tracked jetting reel from Andy Guest Jetters which will be used to access drainage works in difficult-to-reach locations.

MRMS offers a range of operational services paired with cutting-edge software solutions to deliver adaptable and resilient solutions. The firm recently attained Constructionline Gold, an accreditation that Mark says is an essential part of growth plans.

By helping organisations to proactively manage assets, optimise resources, reduce costs, and improve safety, MRMS is making a significant contribution to the UK's water infrastructure.
