Jetchem VP35P Petrol Jetting Pack
2023. One of our main achievements has been a significant reduction in the amount of non-recycled general waste disposed of by the business. In 2021, the business generated approximately 27 tonnes of waste, and most of this was disposed of as general waste. By changing or removing several manufacturing and assembling processes, and by working with key suppliers to reduce non-recyclable packaging waste coming into the business, we have managed to reduce our total production of waste by 40 per cent, generating less than 17 tonnes of waste in the last 12 months. Through proactively promoting reuse or recycling wherever practical, we now also recycle over 50 per cent of all the waste we produce. In total, over the last 12 months, the business has disposed of less than 10 tonnes of non-recycled general waste, a reduction of 64 per cent from two years ago.
“As part of our commitment to reduce our environmental impact, and that of our customers, we have also taken end-of- life disposal into account when designing our new X-Range pipeline CCTV inspection systems; over 97 per cent of the components used to build the X40 system are recyclable. We will also ensure that any of our inspection systems that are returned to us at the end of their service life will be responsibly disposed of, at no cost to our customers.”
Jetchem Industries’ Group Operations Manager is Andrew Barry. He commented that they currently have some electric vehicles in the fleet and are looking to transition to more electric in the future.
“Due to current technology with electric vehicles, there are limitations with service fleet vehicles which are required to travel long distances. With regards to internal processes, we have recycling in place and old IT equipment is collected. We also offer most of our range of jetters in a petrol engine option

while exploring the use of electric jetters. All of our products are manufactured here in the UK which reduces the supply chain costs.”
In the future, Jetchem are likely to be offering a range of electric jetters and ensuring vehicles are compliant with regulations. Barry continued: “We currently have our first electric jetter in the testing phases which we hope to bring to market this year. Our full range of diesel jetters will also be eventually replaced with petrol variants.
But Jetchem are not convinced Government targets are achievable currently due to costing and infrastructure. “Over time the pricing of greener products will reduce due to the supply and demand of customers but until then there may be costing issues for customers. We strive to make our products
