Petroc is committed to ensuring all students learn in a safe and supported environment by providing a wide range of facilities and resources to support your journey with us.


ADVICE & GUIDANCE


CAREERS SUPPORT - We have a dedicated careers specialist offering independent advice, one-to-one careers appointments, workshops and help with job application and CV writing (based on the Gatsby benchmarks*).


FINANCIAL HELP - If you need financial help to cover the costs of studying, we may be able to help you via the Bursary Fund. Contact the Advice and Guidance Centre to find out more.


TRANSPORT -You could be eligible to apply for a free bus pass. Visit petroc.ac.uk transport for more information.


LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES, LIBRARY SERVICES & EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT


DIGITAL LEARNING SPACE - We provide a dedicated space in which to undertake your digital skills development and online learning.


LEARNING MATERIALS - If you require written materials in different formats, including large print, electronic or audio, we will do our best to provide it for you.


STUDY SPACES - We have a range of study spaces where you can access college computers and Chromebooks, or bring your own devices to work on.


THE LIBRARY - With your Petroc student card, you can borrow a range of items from our libraries including books, journals, Chromebooks and headphones. You can also find plenty of resources via the online Petroc Learning Technologies and Library Services Moodle page.


THE TECH HUB -This is a tech area incorporating a quiet study computer room and bookable group working rooms. You can also hire out media equipment such as iPads, cameras and tripods.


*Following the Gatsby Benchmarks, Petroc supports the needs of each learner through personal guidance and in developing a curriculum which links to careers and progression routes, through to further and higher education, or apprenticeships and the workplace.

ACADEMIC PROGRESS LECTURERS -Our curriculum-led staff provide the ongoing support and monitoring of academic learning, helping you to achieve beyond your target grades and progress into your chosen academic or employment pathway.


ACCESSIBILITY - Our campuses are accessible for wheelchair users, with ramps and lifts situated throughout the college. We also have fixed and portable loop systems available to assist those who wear a hearing aid.


ADDITIONAL SUPPORT -Our specialist teams are on hand to help you with any areas of support you may need to help you gain your qualification, whether that’s dyslexia, mental health issues or physical disabilities.


CHILDCARE - The Government runs a childcare support scheme for students under the age of 20 called ‘Care to Learn’. Contact the Advice and Guidance Centre to find out more.


TUTOR SUPPORT TEAM -We have a team of staff who are trained to provide solution-focussed practical and emotional support to learners, helping to minimise the barriers to success and enable you to reach your full potential.


SAFEGUARDING & PREVENT -Our safeguarding team are here to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all our students.
