This curriculum area revolves around high-performing STEM subjects. Find out the facts of the world and the universe whilst analysing patterns, space and time. Use experimentation to prove or disprove theory, and practical dissection to learn about the physical world.

BIOLOGY FTB004

Exciting, relevant and sometimes controversial, Biology is frequently in the news. Develop your understanding of a wide range of topics, including Cellular Structure, Physiology, Biochemistry and Gene Technology through a range of stimulating activities. You will need a grade 6 in Biology or grade 6 in both Core Science and Additional Science.

CHEMISTRY FTB005

Prestigious careers like medicine, veterinary science and pharmacy all require a sound knowledge of Chemistry. Building on topics you will have covered at GCSE, you will progress onto new territories such as spectroscopy and the transition metals. You will need a grade 6 in Chemistry or grade 6 in both Core Science and Additional Science.

COMPUTER SCIENCE FTB264

Learn the principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction, decomposition, logic, algorithms and data representation. This subject will encourage you to think creatively, innovatively, analytically, logically and critically. You will be required to achieve a grade 6 or above in Mathematics.

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE FTB014

Discover how humans interact with their environment and if a finite world can supply a growing population. This highly-relevant and topical course will teach you how to analyse real-world problems. You will be required to achieve a grade 5 in two sciences or a grade 5 in both Core Science and Additional Science. You will also need a grade 5 in Maths.

HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE FTB020

Specialist career-related BTEC qualifications which combine practical learning with subject and theory content. Gain the skills, knowledge and experience needed to successfully progress on to university or employment in the social care, social work or healthcare sectors.
