This curriculum area will enable you to develop critical evaluation techniques, time-management and confidence skills, all of which can be transferred in to a wide range of careers.


ARTS, CRAFT & DESIGN FTB003


Develop your creativity and enthusiasm in art, craft and design. Work across a broad variety of practical areas in both 2D and 3D, and explore both design and expressive disciplines. It is advisable to have a grade 4 or above in a creative GCSE subject such as Art, Graphics, Textiles, Photography, Resistant Materials or CDT. If you did not take a creative GCSE, a portfolio of relevant work can be shown at interview.


MUSIC PERFORMING ARTS (ACTING) FTB293


Broaden your mind and foster a love of all music. Learn about the historical contexts of the development of music as well as composer and perform your chosen instrument. You will need to be working to Music exam level 6. A grade 5 in GCSE music is desirable.


FTB030


Specialist career-related qualifications which combine practical learning with subject and theory content. Gain practical, hands-on experience and explore a variety of acting styles in this vocationally-designed performing arts course. You will devise drama, contemporary and classical theatre, improvisation and physical theatre, and explore character development and use of the voice. You will also learn about acting auditions and creatively develop performances throughout the two years. You will be required to achieve a minimum grade 4 in English and Maths, as well as at least three other GCSEs at grade 4.


PERFORMING ARTS (DANCE) FTB031


Specialist career-related qualifications which combine practical learning with subject and theory content. Develop your technical, performance and creative skills through dance classes and performances in our superb purpose-built dance studio. Explore your full potential whilst gaining a real insight into dance on this exciting and challenging course. You will be required to achieve a minimum grade 4 in English and Maths, as well as at least three other GCSEs at grade 4.


PHOTOGRAPHY FTB034


Study digital and traditional photographic techniques and even experimental forms of photography to make your image making skills flourish. It is advisable to have a grade 4 or above in a creative GCSE – Art, Graphics, Textiles, Photography, Resistant Materials, CDT etc. If you did not take a creative GCSE, a portfolio of relevant work can be shown at interview.


RSL MUSIC PRACTITIONER FTB322


Specialist career-related qualifications which combine practical learning with subject and theory content. Develop the skills you need to succeed in the music industry. Learn about Music Performance, Listening to Music and Music Technology within our outstanding music facilities in this vocationally-designed programme. You will be required to achieve a minimum grade 4 in English and Maths, as well as at least three other GCSEs at grade 4.
