Your study programme will be made up of various elements which, all put together, make up your individual timetable. Your programme will provide you with the knowledge, skills and experiences you’ll need for employment or further study.


The elements that make up your study programme include:


ACADEMIC, VOCATIONAL OR TECHNICAL PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION MATHS AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT (IF REQUIRED) EXTERNAL WORK EXPERIENCE AND/OR EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS DIGITAL ACADEMY


• DIGITAL LITERACY - This programme is designed to support and enable you to develop your digital skills and confidence ready for the workplace or university.


• ONLINE LEARNING - Our curriculum-linked online programmes are designed to encourage independent and flexible learning. They take place within our Digital Learning Space and are a compulsory part of your study.


CAREERS, ADVICE & GUIDANCE ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES TUTORIAL SESSIONS SELF-DIRECTED STUDY


You will receive your timetable during your induction week, however, these will be subject to changes during the first few weeks of term.


T-LEVELS - AVAILABLE FROM 2021


T-levels are two-year college-based technical programmes, which will prepare students for highly skilled jobs or higher technical study. The Level 3 courses are equivalent to studying three A-levels.


The programme is based on employer-designed standards and is made up of a range of components, including concepts and theories, employability skills, numeracy, literacy and digital skills, and occupational specialisms.


Petroc has been selected by the Department of Education to become an official T-level provider from 2021. The courses covered will include Construction, Digital Skills, Health and Childcare. For more information, please contact our Advice & Guidance Centre.


PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARD


As part of your Study Programme, you will be supported in developing six key areas of personal and employability behaviours to prepare you for a successful future in the working world. As you complete various stages of your course, you will be encouraged to collect awards. These awards provide an excellent opportunity for you to track your own progress, identify any areas that require further attention, and focus on your own personal development, as well as provide evidence of your strengths to employers and universities.
